Should I wait to order it or do you think it goes out of stock fast? I already ordered Mankind UE earlier so I dont really want to rush into another purchase. I usually wait out Ringside exclusives. I think they produce a higher number than they use to. They usually drop the price pretty significantly after a while too. The only exclusive I can think of selling out recently was the defining moments Cody.

I usually don’t preorder due to hating how they take the money right away and you have to wait almost 6 months. In this case I made an exception. These really finish off the collection for me. The wait is almost over thankfully.

Im generally iffy about ordering from ringside, the price and wait just usually just a bit too much for me but occasionally they'll get something I absolutely have to have like this or the foley three pack that i jump on as soon as they go up

I'm thinking the WM9 Steiners are coming in that Mattel Creations Elite 2-pack line. If not there, probably Legends as singles. Definitely cool to finally see them as UEs!

I really want a longer haired mullet Scotty, so I’ll be waiting for that version. It’s good we’re getting the ball rolling. Hoping they have white singlet ‘98 Pump for SDCC at least with the correct boots and molded biker trunks.

I’d rather they do 1996/7 Steiner Brothers. These Ultimate figures cover that same time period as WM IX, so no need for both (at least so soon).

A bit disappointing they put Rick in the same attire we've already seen as a Jakks CS.

I wish I could hear more about RSC sales numbers -- just out of curiosity.
I wonder if these will be the best exclusive sellers in recent memory. If Punk or Cody DMs were separate, they might beat it (especially Punk), but I am so curious about how these will do

A bit disappointing they put Rick in the same attire we've already seen as a Jakks CS. You know, I'm wondering if WWE really does push Mattel to use certain attires.... I just noticed as I was deleting some e-mails that the very same promo photo is used in the promotions for last night's A&E Biography special, and I saw this promo photo used I think on their Hall of Fame induction from 2 years ago.... it CAN'T be a coincidence that this is the same attire that Mattel used for their first Tag Team figures, can it? And the Ultimates were revealed at the same time as the A&E Bio? I'm starting to wonder how much synergy WWE wants and if they do ask Mattel to utlilze certain looks, attires, etc. We blame Bill for a lot but maybe he is often trying to appease the WWE Corporate Office while we question some of these decisions we don't always agree with. Personally, I like these attires as I know they wore them in WCW and it's also an homage to Scott's Hasbro figure.... I think Mattel knocked these out of the ballpark! * On a side note - I DVR'd this and I'm very excited to watch it tonight! * Another side note: Should Scott Steiner have had the black elbow pad on the Ultimate figure? Most of the pics/vids I've seen of him, at least wearing this attire, he's wearing the black elbow pad....

Bill has pretty regularly used attires from promo shots and big events, because they're probably the easiest to get reference materials on. WWE is probably providing the same assets to their media partners, or has a limited selection available to partners to pick from. They may have coordinated the reveal for the Biography episode, but given how long Steiners figures were in the works there probably isn't a ton beyond that.

Wouldn't you *want* them in iconic gear -- the Jakks Classics almost all pale in comparison to the fantastic Mattel figures recently. I'd argue they made the totally correct choice.

I like both to be honest, but they had some differences in some interesting and contrasting ways. Overall, Mattel has the far superior product, but Jakks had a better catalog of legends, play sets, headscans (for the most part, some that still aged very well r3 Kane I’m talking about you). Paint apps were pretty good and usually accurate to the source. Now Mattel has something that we’ve wanted after the r3 days and that’s scale, more articulation, unique sculpts, great accessories and interchangeable parts.

The *only* thing that could have made this better for me would have been also having Rick’s attire matching his Hasbro look.
I’ll have to customize that, but of course I’ll also need a Galoob style set…

It's tough to compare figures 15-20 years apart from each other. But I'd argue Mattel has the better roster of legends talent at this point. I look at the names Jakks made that Mattel hasn't and there's no one that feels like huge hole in my collection. But some of these rosters would feel very incomplete without Steamboat, Savage, and others Mattel has made. Not apples to apples, but Mattel has done a lot considering there hasn't been a dedicated Legends product for half of the line's life. Not apples to apples, but there's plenty of reason to appreciate each for what they are.

Mattel is slowly chipping away at the Jakks’ roster, but I think Jakks only had the classic superstars line from 04-09, Mattel has had it from 2010-2024. It’s been slow motion at times for Mattel legends collectors(not in recent years) Mattel filled huge holes with Savage & Steamboat pretty much right away, which was awesome.

That's a pretty fair point. It's easy to forget the Jakks Classic Superstars line only lasted for five years while Mattel has been at it for nearly three times as long. Both lines have had their fair share of exclusive big names although you have to tip your cap to Jakks for packing a TON of legends into a pretty brief window. They had multiple "First Time in the Line" additions in pretty much every CS series which kept it exciting. Mattel will sprinkle in new names as well although not nearly as frequently.

If I were to name two names it’d be Buff Bagwell and Billy Kidman, but I guess it’s biased because I’m very fond of that era of wrestling. I’m sure everyone has their own list though. Mattel did give me a lot of the heavy hitters that Jakks was never able to like Macho, Sting, Muta (which is incredible). However, you do have folks here who ask for guys we got in the Jakks lineup that probably would never sell in the legends line and would more than likely never get signed. I do wonder though, what would of happened had Jakks still had the license? Maybe we would of gotten a new line?

They were some of my first wrestling figures, and I'd love to see Bill take a crack at them. Hopefully there are plenty of classic Steiner Bros on the way.
