I'm curious if these particular figures have ball jointed hips or the old ratchets, but my more general question is whether or not the ratchet joints have been phased out completely?

CC Piper - the smooth ball joints stems.
WM Piper - looks like it’s the ball joint, but it also looks like they have notches on them instead of the smooth ones of the CC figure. When you raise the WM MNW’s Piper’s legs you can feel the hip going over the notches on the stem. (Like a speed bump) The CC figure when you do the same action it’s just a smooth move.

I’m still upset about the trunks and kneepad color Mattel chose. Jakks got it right. It’s good for the CC, but the MNW WCW Piper should be a duller/darker blue. But as good the head sculpts on it I can overlook the brighter/lighter shade of blue they used on it. |
