I watched the newest video, unveiling the Andre. I know it’s still a work in progress, but so far at least, I like the BRG better (even though it’s still one of my least favorite of that line). The Macho is still very tempting to me, but this Andre looks to be an easy pass.

There are numerous other Andres planned from my understanding. I pleaded to do one of the other versions first because this look isn’t exactly my favorite. Thats coming from someone who collects Andre stuff! My collection doesn’t follow any rules other than I try to make sure every era of Andre is represented if possible. There are silly things in there. But I’m genuinely excited if I understood this correctly: there are plans to do an even BIGGER Andre! I passed on those 36 inch wrestling buddies but an 18inch Andre figure would be impossible for me to pass up! Also, I’m not sure if anyone else noticed the Easter egg in the background:

Purely going off realistic names who already have a retro figure available through an independent company, or have one on the way: Bulldog (singles attire, any era) Vader Gangrel (sleeveless w/ tattoos) Hayabusa Sabu Sandman I'd definitely be interested in any of those. If a guy like Bam Bam could be signed, then I'd love him in his 96-99 attires. Though I'm not sure if he'll ever be available, I think if pretty much any of the retro companies got hold of him then we'd see some of the best Bam Bam figures possible. Mattel certainly aren't doing him justice, imo. I would LOVE Bam Bam redone in this form factor, preferably not cast in black rubber this time. I just want somebody other than Mattel to be able to make Bam Bam figures... Retros specifically, Hasbro style, Galoob style, LJN style... The whole 9 yards. 👌

I actually really like that Andre, although it's not for me. It has that true late 80s toy vibe, imo. I'm definitely keeping tuned into this line.

If they start doing a Hulk Hogan’s Rock n Wrestling themed line of whoever they can, I would very likely be all-in!

Has it been asked or explained why he is literally using the same sculpts as the ljns and just re positioning the arms/legs. Macho man is a complete rip off and andre is definitely the ljn head with what appears to be the body just stretched out standing upright in a size that is to big to fit in with ljns…
Why not be more original with your sculptures/design?

I don’t speak for him - I’ve only had friendly conversations with him. From what I gather, this is something he has always wanted to do (basically remix figures to create his own/the ones he envisioned). Yes, he will be selling these but it sounds more like a wild passion project first and a business second. Like I’m sure he would like to make this a successful venture but it is about more than that to him. He seems genuine and enthusiastic. Pretty much every doubt I have had thus far has been dispelled. He will tell me about something, tell me roughly when to expect it, and then he delivers. I’m all for the wild ride even though I primarily collect only Hasbro style figures and Andre merch.

“Biggest name in the wrestling world”
No way this guy is paying WWE for Hogan rights… right?

“Biggest name in the wrestling world” No way this guy is paying WWE for Hogan rights… right? Didn’t “Junkshop Dog” get him recently? So not impossible. Then again, wrestling fans have argued for years whether Flair is a bigger name than Hogan (he’s not). So could just be a tease for the upcoming Flair, which I believe was already confirmed.

The international thing makes me think it's not quite as obvious as a Hogan or Flair. I'm assuming, like Vader or Stan Hansen or something. Maybe I'm way off.

Worldwide Hogan was/is a household name, Flair not so much. I'd seen Hogan as a kid in Rocky, the A-Team and Gremlins before I'd seen a full wrestling show.

I’m just saying it wouldn’t surprise me if the statement is a swerve and not about him.

I spoke one on one with the man himself. I have some exclusive news that I’m only going to share here: The figure he teased today is not Disco Inferno. When confronted, Mr. LaToonie had this to say: Who is disco inferno I just googled him lol

This might sound like a bit of a weird comment to make, but doesn't that concern anyone else that someone who is wants to produce and looking to sell a product within such a specific entertainment form as pro wrestling doesn't know a name like Disco Inferno? I mean, he's not an timeless generational star - I get that. But Disco was relatively prominent in late 90's in WCW programming till the companies demise- and then still popped around different promotions like TNA and WWA etc afterwards.... I understand the love of LJN figures means you would naturally hone in on a certain time frame when the line was at it's height of popularity and therefore focus on certain wrestling personalities, but I would have thought that the knowledge of wrestling characters would expand a bit further when you're marketing a product to sell. Same as if you were working on a Marvel/DC/GI Joe line etc, you might not be an expert on them, but I imagine you'd still have an idea of wider and lesser known characters too....
either way, just something that stood out to me. the Latoonie product doesn't do anything for me anyway so Im just passively keeping up with it so it's not like he's gained or lost a customer in me.

I was thinking the same, regarding Disco Inferno. May have just been a joke though.

Not necessarily; he could've stopped watching wrestling after 1990 or just watched WWF/WWE. Or it might be a joke: Who? I'll have to google him.
