I think the main reason why there was such a large gap between figures for Bayley is because she was injured/off TV for about a year before she returned at SummerSlam 2022. I’m glad we finally got an updated figure of her in Elite 109, and I’m glad it didn’t disappoint. Would love if they could make an Ultimate of her WrestleMania 40 look. Definitely played a part, but she should have had at least one elite figure about a year ago (since she returned on 7/30/22). Dakota Kai was in 104 and Iyo Sky was in 105 so it's weird that 4 more sets went by before she was released.

Way too long for top talent. Even longer when you don't collect basics. It's a problem for the women's roster as a whole. Only one female per Elite wave really kills any momentum the woman deserve in the line. I mean just look at this very thread... it's about Bayley yet it's all talk about mens figures (Miz, Sami, etc) The right people don't seem to care and unfortunately the people who fill their pockets don't seem to care either. I agree she definitely needs better proportions, just like Bianca. Ok, here's the deal. Sami's my favorite. I took that personally. But right now, behind me, I have an entire shelving unit on it that is NOTHING but women's wreslting figures. Hundreds of figures on one industrial sized shelf. Trust me, I know this is a problem for the women. But here's the thing. I'm just grateful we GET the women at this point. Having 2 years between Bayley figures for me doesn't register the same to me as 2 years between Sami because when Sami's new Elite 91 figure was announced, my response was "Wow, they finally bothered to make one" where as when I saw they they were actually making Elites of Damage CTRL, my thoughts were "Oh thank god, this is so wonderful" Them making any women's figures at all is a blessing to me because I long ago accepted that the women's figures would never be the focus or even important to Mattel or WWE. They were never going to put the work in there, so I gave up on any hope of them doing so. Now? I'll happily feast on whatever scraps I get, and pray to jesus that I'm online for the 1 hour window the 30 dollar FTIL basics are on ringside. I collect women's figures more than I collect Sami and Kevin by far. In fact, I barely "Collect" Sami and Kevin at all at this point. At least 2/3rds of my collection is customs. But I will happily buy women's figures all day every day. ... at least I would if they bothered to make them.

I certainly didn't mean to offend when mentioning Sami. My point was that here in one of the very few threads about a woman the conversation immediately became about men.
I dont follow mens figures so if Sami has been limited in figure releases then I definitely understand your pain.
I think we're on the same page with the women's figures tho. The sad thing is, it shouldn't have to feel like a "blessing" to get a womens figure. Back in the day it was a blessing to see a womens match last longer than 30 seconds if they had one at all. Nowadays, it's expected. It's even normal to see women main event a show. I just wish Mattel would match that energy. They seem to be stuck in the old ways while WWE television has moved forward. 2 women per Elite line shpuld be normal, and 3 could be the new "blessing."

They seem to be stuck in the old ways while WWE television has moved forward. 2 women per Elite line shpuld be normal, and 3 could be the new "blessing." It's expected, but still doesn't happen nearly as often as it should. When the announced the WWE Speed thing, my immediate reaction was "They should let the women do this, they're used to having 3 minute matches"... which was a sentiment bitterly echoed by Piper Niven herself. Back when the Women's Evolution was in full force, the women were main eventing regularly and being given respect. Now, the Women's Royal Rumble winner not only doesn't get the main event, but I swear they get shoved halfway down the midcard on night 1. Bayley carried the Thunderdome Era on her back and never got any credit for it. The women's MITB match this year was 'stunning' to people, it feels in large part because people are shocked that women in the WWE still know how to wrestle. Outside of a couple big names like Jade Cargill and maybe Tiffany Stratton, none of the women have any real star power put to their names anymore, and a lot of the time, they're just there as accessories or plot elements in storylines revolving around men. Liv Morgan is the womens world champion and her entire title reign thus far has been made about Dominik Mysterio. It's embarassing. Title reign after title reign feels like an afterthought and the belts never get defended. It's very clear that Hunter doesn't give a hoot about women's wrestling at all, and Mattel's complete disregard for women's figures reflects this. So yeah. Just getting any women's figures at all? I count that as a blessing at this point. Especially those FTIL basics. Because god knows if Mattel didn't bless us with those one-per-case basics, most of these women would never get a figure ever. ETA: Added point. No, it shouldn't have to feel like a blessing. But I don't agree that Mattel isn't matching WWE's energy. I feel they ARE matching it... which is the PROBLEM.

That basic battle pack Bayley is my definitive Bayley figure.

Is there really need for a new Bayley though -- she looks exactly the same. But agree, the new face sculpt is terrible... She wears different gear. She’s the women’s champion. By your logic, most wrestlers don’t need new figures.

Although saying that Bayley looks *exactly* the same, when her hairstyle and color are distinctively different between the two figures... that's kind of a confusing comment. And a bit troubling. I honestly wonder what your stance is on Deadman Undertaker and ABA Undertaker and if THEY look exactly the same.
