I have pretty much every mass retail aew figure from jazwares up until series 7. But, I lost interest in the line and they have been in storage for the last year. I tried selling them, but very little interest. So, got bored and decided to save some room and rip them open.
Now that they are all loose, now what? I've got no room on my shelf so now they are back in the tote.
I did notice that these figures seem to be better quality than the mattel wwe line. What do you think?

Almost every Jazwares figure I’ve purchased has had QC issues from terrible face printing, tattoos over wrist tape, cloth goods staining, flimsy plastic etc.

For my money, Jazzys still held my interest while it was going south for Matty's. Interest in talents, and textile feel. Mattel's harder plastic made joints either stiff or floppy, and harder to manipulate. Jazwares has a fluidness I appreciate.

If the reverse meant dumping on their efforts all the time, I'll take that as a compliment.

They don't feel as flimsy as the newer mattel figures do.

Honestly, I always felt like Jazwares figures have been a bit underrated. Yes skin tones can vary wildly and be annoying. Yes I hate that they STILL refuse to address staining issues nearly 4 years into the line. But they also tend to make some of the best wrestling figures out there. Their Supreme Codys are still better than every one of Mattel's so far. The tattoo was done right, the weight belt was better and I prefer their scans of Cody over the 10 year old Cody scan Mattel dug up, their new screaming one and his new "gonna cry" face they made. Supreme Punk and B&G Punk were the best CM Punk figures we probably ever got. Brody King and Malachi Black were another pair of great figures. Even the current Walmart Bucks with the lampshade tassels in their faces have some insane deco hits that I don't think we've ever seen from Mattel.
That doesn't mean I think the line is perfect, far from it. They've made some butt ugly figures too. But when we reach the end of the year, there tends to always be a handful of Jazwares figures that stand out well above the bulk of what I pick up from Mattel.

Smart move. I love the AEW line despite some of the flaws. I've bought every unrivaled and unmatched set of 6, minus chases unless I got lucky.

It really is the biggest hit or miss series. Swerve, Lance Archer, PAC, there's figures I absolutely love and are some of my favourite and then others from the same series are just awful in my opinion.

Huge fan of the 1 of 1 sculpts that Jazwares uses.

I wouldn't find them better quality than Mattel...there's some nice figures there but overall I find the execution of the figures average enough.

From a pure design standpoint, I've always preferred Jazwares to Mattel. The joints are a lot better, especially since Mattel continues using their terrible decade + old ratchet hips that barely move. The plastic feels heavier and better quality, and the figures just feel more durable and play-able than Mattel. My collection just stands on a shelf, so not a big impact for me. But it's worth noting that there was a very clear correlation between Jazwares rolling things like the rocker torso and double jointed arms into their standard line and Mattel making changes like the UE butterfly joints and standard use of double jointed elbows and a return to more softgoods. Even if you prefer Mattel, Jazwares deserves a hat tip for pushing them to up their game after a few years of clear stagnation.

man the boxes are a pain in the ass to open gracefully.
uhm..i like them overall, there is a certain charm to them. some collectors dont like this feature, but i do like that the joints have a rachety feel to them, like the joints are textured, that sort of 'click click' feeling when moving the arms--just because it helps lock the joints into place long term and keep the joints from degrading, IMO.
i like that for the most part everyone seems to have a unique body sculpt, and jazwares has always had amazing tattoo applications.
biggest detractors for the line are scale issues on the womens figures
anime eyes and bad headsculpts.

I hate all of their boxes. I would love for them to re-design them. Something like the mattel ultimates but scaled for their regular line, or a dream would be something as simple (and collector friendly) as SH figuarts packaging. Beyond that, my biggest issue is that I'm pretty un-interested in Jazwares selections. I don't know what's going on with the strategy, but they waste so much damn time and then suddenly the newest figure is a look from 20 years ago, like get this craptogether. They kinda need to reset and just get a line with all the current pushed stars like Swerve, Ospreay, Okada, MJF, Toni, Mone, May etc. just so it doesn't feel like this company stopped producing figures in 2022. Jazwares have a panel on Saturday, so hopefully if they announce future stuff they come out with the big names. Like, I would just trash this series except for Jay and maybe MJF. Sting would be an exclusive for another site.
