Next MNW set is......interesting. So like, is it considered wave 5? or just an exclusive wave? I don't get it. Also, Razor Ramon wasn't part of the Monday Night Wars, but I love the figure. BAF Dusty in the nWo is awesome, wonder what the rest of it looks like LOL that they said NONE of the figures shown with the Nitro Entrance would be made, and so far we've had 2 of them in the Elite line....even though the Rey sucked. Syxx is good for those who missed the first one but I have no use for it Love the Ultimate HHH, hoping for a WCW Booker T as the other one They never said they wouldn’t be made as Elites…

It makes more sense for RVD to have a figure in the MNW line than it does Razor Ramon … Scott Hall made his debut first on Nitro which was technically the actual start of the Monday Night War … the Razor character was BEFORE that & had absolutely nothing to do with the Wwf vs Wcw so I don’t care if it was Scott Hall portraying the Razor character, that figure has no business being in the MNW line … I mean c’mon seriously, who’s next for crying out loud, Diesel?? You don’t know what you are talking about…razor fits…the end Maybe he does, maybe he don’t … it depends on the way someone chooses to personally look at it … but I do know this much for sure, it isn’t worth arguing about

The start of the Monday Night Wars isn’t open to interpretation. It’s definitively when they first started going head to head on 9/4/95. Hall showing up on Nitro was a pivotal moment that turned the tides of the war but nowhere near the start of it. There were clear acts of war prior to that with moments like Madusa trashing the WWF women’s belt on Nitro, Bischoff spoiling taped Raws, WWF airing Billionaire Ted skits, etc.

Every single figure in this set looks bad except Razor, and how many Razors do we need?
The only good thing is the Triple H Ultimate

And hopefully he has his red jacket too, that would really make it stand out. And maybe throw in his dark glasses as well.

Luger showing up on Nitro back on 9/4/1995, one day after being in a WWF match and only like 1 week after Summmerslam, was the Lexington and Concord of the MNW.

Hall showed up trying to fool the audience into thinking he was an invading WWF guy and said “you want a war, you’re gonna get one” referencing the war WCW had already started with WWF several months prior which later got retconned into the nWo taking over. Again, huge moment that turned the tides but not the start. There are several documentaries, series, books, podcasts, etc that chronicle the Monday Night Wars and every single one of them have the first Nitro as the start of the war. That is when Bischoff and Turner took the fight directly to Vince by going head to head on Monday Nights.

Because so much of the Monday Night Wars has been directly tied into the NWO's formation that perhaps people don't remember that there even was anything before that. Sort of like how, in Doctor Who (stick with me here), people think that the Doctor as a character was always a "Time Lord" with "Regeneration", when really, neither of those things were even conceived of when the show began. Sure, the kayfabe says one thing, and that fictional story has become so ingrained in popular culture that it's become an accepted truth, but in reality, the IRL story is different.

That is when Bischoff and Turner took the fight directly to Vince by going head to head on Monday Nights. You guys are really playing semantics here..... technically yes, "Razor Ramon" was on RAW at the very beginning of the Monday Night Wars. However his defining role in the Monday Night Wars was when he defected to WCW, and staged the "invasion" which led to the birth of the New World Order. "Scott Hall" was one of the key players over the duration of the Monday Night Wars. I was thrilled to get the "tucked denim Nitro" Scott Hall in MNW Series 1! To me, that's perfect for this line. I think most people like the yellow Razor figure and most agree it looks fantastic, we're just not sure it "fits" perfectly into this line which is supposed to celebrate the Monday Night Wars.... PLUS we just got the Definitive Monday Night Wars Scott Hall in Wave 1! This just doesn't seem to fit. I had a similar thought about Rob Van Dam. Aside from that brief "ECW Invasion" storyline which lasted like, 3 weeks? He didn't even join WWE until 2001, after the Monday Night Wars had ended. I think when this line was announced, some of us had a different idea of what it would be.... personally, I was picturing key Monday Night Wars moments..... Hall invading Nitro (check)..... Nash appearing on Nitro (check)..... Madusa dumping the WWF Women's Title in the trash, Lex Luger appearing on the first Nitro (check), Eric Bischoff........ Goldberg....... Ric Flair returns in a tuxedo to re-form the 4 Horsemen..... Degeneration X raising hell on RAW...... X-Pac returns to RAW & cuts a heated promo (leather jacket & tight jeans)...... DDP in jeans (check, coming soon)....... some of the WCW Luchadores like Juventud Guerrera....... Stone Cold Steve Austin (check)..... Dungeon of Doom...... "Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan...... Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter..... Vince McMahon...... I think a few of the choices they are doing are a bit "out there"..... Referee Teddy Long..... Rob Van Dam.... Razor Ramon..... "Fake Diesel"..... all seem like stuff from that era that I barely even noticed or remember. Taking a pass on "nWo" Dusty Rhodes, only because I really hated that angle. It just made no sense for Dusty Rhodes to join the nWo.... and they went absolutely nowhere with it. So it's not an angle or a moment that I care to remember, because I think WCW did a lousy job with it. So I'm glad for the people who want this, and I'm sure the figure will look amazing. I just didn't care for the actual moment it represents.

Yeah no argument that Hall is more associated with the WCW side of the war but there are plenty of people who fought on both sides. And the reason why Hall and Nash made such a major impact with their invasion angle is because they were huge stars in WWF just prior. So makes sense to use insert Razor as he was a key member in WWF during the early days. Should we ignore WCW guys in 2000 when they weren’t competitive? Of course not. They weren’t putting up much of a fight but the war was still going on.

But, unfortnately for collectors, this is a WWE run line. WWE doesn't care about our feelings and never have. In the WWE's mind, Razor Ramon and RVD were part of the Monday Night Wars, as evidenced by their fitting into their Documentary series which they were so proud of they actually made DVDs of it. That's all it comes down to, like it or not. WWE says it counts, it counts. We as collectors are collectively wasting our breath arguing about it because it's not going to change WWE's opinon. Basically, yeah. If you like the figure, buy the figure. If not, don't buy the figure. But save your breath on what should or shouldn't be a part of this line because it will never matter to the people MAKING it, any more than the universal opinion that Walmart has no buisness CARRYING it.

Hard enough finding the regulars! So true! As far as I'm concerned, this whole line has been nothing but "chase" figures. I've had an easier time finding "chase" figures in other lines.

Is there a picture of the Dusty BAF put together? I’ve only seen the pieces Pics for this wave have been all over. Some have finished promo shots, some have just action shots. I don't even think we've seen Dusty's head yet, just the legs and torso. The new "fat" jeans mold does lend some credibility to that Cody/Dusty two-pack rumor, though.
