McFarlane Toys just put Mattel WWE's entire SDCC presence to shame with just one panel image. If there’s one thing I want is figurines that don’t move. I’m being sarcastic. Those have always been lame to me. If I want a statue, I’ll get a fountain.

I'm surprised we haven't gotten any new Drew McIntyre figures since Clash of the Castle 2022. I mean he's one of the hottest WWE Superstars, he's feuding with CM Punk. He's re-signed. Why are there not more updated figures of him or revealed at Comic Con?

Can you imagine if they lose Hogan beyond their control? They just pissed away a full reveal on silly figures of him that no one asked for. Wrestlemania XXX Hogan? Who asked for that?? It's annoying really I'm going to be honest, I would not be mad if they lost Hogan lol I got the Hogan's I wanted (Ichiban & nWo variants). I think it's safe to say its time to cool off a bit brother. I still want an elite of the Hollywood Hogan Ultimate. I wouldn’t say no to a redo of the elite 91 with the new torso and hot dog tan.

Why are there not more updated figures of him or revealed at Comic Con? I think it might have been because his contract was coming up and he hadn’t signed a new one for a long time.

Your probably right, but I was thinking it would be Godfather - that color pattern seems a little odd. And he had so many different colors. Surprised they’ve not done him in rtc gear as the chase. Still waiting on all-black Nation Godfather.

That was a rerelease. This is an updated figure. True FX Double jointed arms Interchangable hands and head Added knee pads It's Badd Blood. The first Hell in a Cell with a number of updates that Mattel have made since the original release over 10 years ago. Not to mention that it's in a Monday Night Wars centered line and Shawn was not in the ring wrestling most of that span of time. Gives plenty of people who weren't collecting at the time an opportunity to jump in and grab the figure. Not knocking you, I'm all for HBK repaints and redecos. But Mattel is a big company that's gonna go with a figure and attire they know will sell. Fair enough. And don't get me wrong, I LOVE that gear. It's my second favorite gear that HBK ever wore, and that match is my favorite match in wrestling history. So, I'm well-versed in that aspect of it. There's just soooo many unmade HBK gears available to be made that it kinda irks me. I get the point too on the MNW Series. A few months back, I proposed an HBK for the Monday Night Wars Series for that time period. In the same time period of October 1997 Hell in a Cell, on those Raws, Shawn was wearing his IYH: Ground Zero tights, with his 1997 gimmick shirt on Raw in that time period for promos and segments with DX. I'd love to see that be his Monday Night Wars figure rather than another 1997 HIAC figure, as much as I love that gear. Here is the look I am referring to. You can even have a band-aid on his head which is from the Hell in a Cell match with Taker that he wore on Raw for a couple of weeks after the match.: Coincidentally, I watched this episode of Raw last night. It was the night after Badd Blood and it’s when they dubbed themselves Degeneration X. In the close shots you can see that the outline of the heart logos is blue, not silver. But it looks silver from far away. So it is technically different from the Hell in a Cell attire which was definitely silver.

Hulk Still Rules ultimate was the most needed Hogan and they showed it. Aside from a Mr America redo there is literally nothing left for Hogan at this point. You forgot to mention the wolfpac Hogan with red flame boots and white gloves. The RSE was half assed. I also want a ‘96 terminator Hulk and then I’m set. Mattel could figure out how to alter the skull. I didn’t buy that rsc figure because I thought they could have done much better. T2 hogan would be fire. What are your thoughts on BatB hogan in UE form?

The reason they are doing that is because of the lack of new signings. They are having to dig deep into the gimmicks well in order to find stuff to release, thus why we are seeing so many figures of niche or obscure characters that likely only appeal to hardcore collectors. They are doing the best they can with what they have to work with, I'll give them that but at the end of the day people want more new names in the line. At some point many collectors will lose interest (we may already be reaching that point) if its just figures of the same wrestlers over and over again.
Lack of new names is not a new issue. It's been that way for years and years. At this point it's probably been a problem for as many years as it *wasn't* a problem. Wrestling is as hot as it's been in decades right now, it's a safe bet that is attracting new or lapsed collectors back. They keep adding re-release lines, so clearly there's a market. I want new names too - but it is what it is. The number of people who will truly stop collecting because we aren't getting Glacier or Hercules isn't large enough for WWE or Mattel to change the way they're doing business. Even though it is a frustration of mine as well. I do think the "Lack of first time in the line legends" narrative is a bit overstated. I think it feels that way because there are so many re-releases but if you look at the last three years, it looks like this for FTITL Legends: 2022: Bob Orton, Chyna, Stacy Keibler, Molly Holly, Mr.t (5) 2023: Rick Steiner, Scott Steiner, Eric Bischoff, Torrie Wilson, Samu, Brother Love, Zeus, Muhammad Ali, Gobbledy Gooker (9) 2024: Terry Gordy, The Sandman, Mosh, Thrasher, Peter Maivia, Captain Lou Albano, Rosey, John Cone, Nicholas (9) Great Khali is also getting his first Ultimate but he had a basic before Are some of them stretches like Nicholas and John Cone? lol yes. But still 9 FTITL legends a year isn't bad at all and we already have The Great Muta lined up for 2025. And those are also a good mix of generations. Gordy, Maivia and Albano are old school, Headbangers and Sandman for Attitude era time period, Rosey for Ruthless Aggression etc. And the names last year were pretty big names as well relative to what is left that hasn't been made.

There could always be additions to the display over the weekend. You never know. yeah they normally add a few more figures to the booth Keep in mind though that these will be figures we have already seen renders for. They most likely wouldn't put out figures of anyone new - Randy Savage, etc - that didn't get the hype at the panel yesterday.

Not to mention redos of Wrestlemania III, Wolfpac, and Summerslam 2005 with updated skin tone.

Those Ultimate Muta figs are amazing. I’ll need both the red (regular) and b/w (chase) versions.
Ultimate Bam Bam was a nice surprise. Another one I want. Bossman is cool as well.

Here's the Ring that is keeping so many from Rhea...... since a lot of people are asking. I'm not that in-need of a Rhea but I recently bought a full-blown Nitro ring mostly so I could get the Eric Bischoff figure, so I feel your pain. I didn’t see this! As a ring freak, I want this ring! That looks like an LED panel, too! I mean not a real LED panel, but that looks like plastic and not a facsimile printed on a fabric apron like the last few Wicked Cool Toys rings. If they made a Raw, maybe they’ll make a Smackdown next year.

Also.....I love how they didn't used to give these NXT guys the time of day (when it used to be good) now they are like "hey we need these NXT guys now because we have a shortage of first time in the line legends"

I've been refreshing RSC for 2 weeks now waiting for Elite 113... I thought for sure that would end this weekend.

My point is when they were asked why certain NXT superstars were missing from the line they would usually give the answer that "fans need to become more familiar with them once they have reached the main rosters before they commit to making them in figure form" It seems to coincide with their lack of new legends. Rarely do first time in the line legends debut in the Legends series.
