Golga and Hak both rule but we should have also seen some version of Pump from 98-01.
You could tell me Rick or Scott either one did something crazy and got dropped from their Legends deal at any point, and I would be 0% shocked. I wish Mattel was operating with more urgency with them. I'm still pretty confused as to why the Scott Elite didn't match the era of the Rick. If we already had a 99 Scott I'd be a lot less stressed about the entire situation.

Outside the random mid card act, an international star, or the completely unlikely like Owen, I don’t think there are many stones left to turn. Owen and Liger might be the last possible major gets. The list of true HEAVY hitters is slim. We all know we won't see a Mattel version of Owen or Benoit. It is all about those midcard names now. Guys like Crush/Ahmed Johnson/Dynamite Kid are the difference makers. Hate say this..but with the bridges he burned with other wrestlers I can't see Ahmed getting a legends contract unless he passes.

Scotty's Elite could have 100% been his black singlet or something but honestly I'm fine with the look I got. There's so many black attires in the line that I tend to love when we get a bit of bright color in the mix. Plus it says Freakzilla on it which popped me good lol

To be honest, I thought the Steiner Brothers would be quietly canceled by WWE after Rick Steiner's transphobic rant at a convention a few years back. Eric Bischoff also went public to suggest the Steiner Brothers had duct taped a referee, head to toe, and then stuck a pencil up his ass. Assuming the referee didn't consent, that is clear and obvious sexual assault under Canadian law. I am sure the same is true in the US. The WWE and Mattel are both publicly traded companies and so I would totally understand one or both not wanting anything to do with Rick and Scott Steiner, or at least limiting the publicity around any of their figures or merchandise as they wait for the contract to naturally expire.

If that’s the case 99% of the 80s/90s and early 2000s wrestlers would be axed from ever having anything done .

I forgot Sabu and Taz. Those could be fairly big. But yeah it’s the midcard they can chip away at and while none of those will be mind blowing, they could all sell decently I’m sure. I’d be interested in how well a Sable would sell. She was a big star at her peak. I didn't mean to make it sound dismissive either. Those midcard names are the backbone to a lot of collections whether it be WWE/TMNT/MOTU/Star Wars/etc. On the wrestling side, there are still a TON of prominent midcarders that have yet to be made so I think this line has plenty of legs if they are willing to invest. Yeah, I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Which I am somewhat nervous about because of Scotty's demeanour.

This is a fair complaint. It was a lackluster sdcc for Mattel overall though. Axxess reveals were more impressive.

I'd take 10 Sandmans before I take a Scott Steiner figure, I'll tell you that much. Hardcore Hak is a dope figure.

So you think the line only has a few years left??? I don’t think there’s a name that they haven’t already made that they can sign that’s bigger than the Steiners. Nothing from this point forward will create as much buzz and excitement. I disagree there’s still a lot of talent to out there that’d create excitement. Dynamite kid Jesse Ventura Jeff Jarrett Crush Raven Shane Douglas Mr Fuji Haku I could go on. There’s plenty left to do, and tbh it’s crazy that Mattel can’t sign most of these guys but Indy toy companies are making all these figs people have been asking for, for years.

I think the whole "freeze" on the Steiners had little to do with Rick's rant. I think as far Ultimate Editions go, it to do with the main line switching formats from a mainly a legends line to a modern wrestlers line. These aren't supposed to come out until November and they already had packaging samples, I think they've been sitting on these awhile.
