.... will not be coming back to Mattel yet. It looks like they both have figures coming from AEW Jazwares into next year, including an excellent looking render of a Blonde Surfer Sting figure.

wow it only took them like 5 years to make a flashback sting Probably scared of getting sued by WWE, who have a habit of making legal threats claiming they own everything, including for stuff they absolutely do not own. Standard monopolizing tactics. Even Sting aside, Jazwares have barely touched 1980s and 1990s Legends in general, I know they did Owen Hart, and a classic Chris Jericho, but that's it isn't it? Hopefully they will explore other possibilities, obviously ones that don't infringe WWE trademarks. |

Oh wow these look great. I hope they aren't to difficult to find/order/buy. I'll buy as much Sting stuff as I can get my grubby hands on!
While I'm disappointed that Flair isn't coming back to Mattel anytime soon, I do look forward to adding yet another company/Flair product to my collection. I have Galoob Flair, ToyBiz Flair, JAKKS Flair, Hasbro Flair, Mattel Flair, probably a few others I'm forgetting.... and soon I'll have AEW/Jazwares Flair.....

I still don't understand how WWE have any rights on attires that were used on WCW or any other promotion WWE owns. If that "superstar" created that attire without any involvement of that "promotion" that WWE owns it should be fair game. Sting owns his IP so I'm sure he can do whatever he likes when it comes to the attires he wore throughout his career.
I think Jazwares is afraid of getting sued, so have taken the easy option of not getting involved in attires worn on WCW TV.

Damn, I as hoping Mattel could get them back. Sucks, but atleast AEW figs are in scale with wwe (or so I’ve been told)

For those questioning the attire choices, remember most Surfer Sting attires are property of WWE via the WCW & Mid South libraries. So very likely this attire of Sting was worn during his JCP time or during an event like with NJPW.

So you’re saying Mattel could and should do all of CM Punk’s AEW looks that Jazwares didn’t do? Even tho WWE did not produce any of the content those looks are from Mattel could legally do make a figure from any AEW broadcast without any repercussions? |

The other option was just to tell people to go look at the AEW board, but I figured that a Surfer Sting was asked for so much that it would be an exception to post those links here. They are Ringside links, so I assume that is OK. |
