Black will show dust. I recommend oak or white Can confirm, I have to wipe my shelve downs once or twice a week or I'll loose my mind |

I never recommended black shelving, he ask for pictures and they were provided. But I also have a good hvac system and probably have to dust once a year. I also had a white Billy bookshelve prior to moving and I can say it shows dust also, may not be as bad if you had black and had a dusty house, but if you want white or oak to hide dust you’ll eventually see it on white.

I have about 35 black shelves..I also run a small amazon purchased air purifier in my toy room. There's dust but its not that bad. I dust about once a year. A lot of it depends on your flooring, pets, HVAC system and how old your house is.

Im in the midst of cleaning and re-organizing so excuse the clutter. The doors help prevent a lot of dust, but some still gets in. I dust and reorganize nrw figs in once a year (now). I also use compressed air for anything not behind doors about once a month. I also made my own risers out of foam board and hot glue to fit each shelf.   |

I took that pic over a year ago I think. I’ve added risers since then. But the Billy Bookshleves are the best looking shelves I’ve found for displaying |

i didn't realise how well the colours can pop off against the black shelving units. Looks great for golden era collections.

No i ended up keeping it.. glad i did too because it was a nightmare to paint. I gave him a new head as well. Also i love the idea of risers made out of stryofoam. Im gonna steal that idea. Were they painted black ot can u buy black stryofoam?   |

I find black makes the colors pop more and matches the shelves.    |
