September 21st Event Cancelled
We regret to inform you that our event scheduled for this Friday, September 21st has been cancelled indefinitely. Saturday morning St. John's Hall management contacted us with this distressing news and explained to us that the City of Mississauga has changed the zoning laws in the area . Unfortunately these new restrictions do not allow the hall to rent or lease the venue to any type of event promoter. This is horrible news for our friends at the hall because they rely on event bookings to maintain their large complex. Management informed us that the remainder of our 2007 events have been cancelled and our 2008 and 2009 contracts have been terminated. This is a terrible situation for all parties involved but we understand it is not the halls fault. We only wish they would have given us more notice so we could have moved venues or given our fans more notice of this cancellation. Obviously this situation is out of our hands and there is nothing we can do at this time. We did plead with the hall asking them to allow us to do one final in our home venue this Friday. Management informed us that if they were to allow us into the venue we would receive fines from the city for operating in the hall. St. John's Hall is trying everything in their power to rectify this problem. Hopefully they will be successful in their attempts to change the zoning.
We have always said that our amazing venue is part of the ambience and experience of UWA events. St. John's hall has played a major part in the creation and development of our company. The Hall was our home and the people who worked their felt like our family. We would personally like to thank them for all of their help in the past and allowing us to create some amazing memories in professional wrestling. There really is no other venue like it. We'll keep you informed as to when and where the next UWA event will be held.
