Building a complete core roster circa 1983-85 and 1989-1992 is really rough without the Superfly. I get that he wasn't always a top guy by any stretch, but man he was a staple. He never needed a title or major angle, he was always over, and he was one of the first names to come to mind from his era.
The Nancy Argenetino case reopening has seemingly damaged his legacy well beyond repair, and it seems like not even the third party companies will touch his likeness.
Considering that he wasn't fit to stand trial, the court of public opinion pretty much convicted him, and I can't blame them, the evidence is damning. I'm not advocating for him by any stretch.
I am however curious to your thoughts on his image and likeness rights moving forward, will be ever be licensed and have merchandise again? It seems like he's in the same category as Benoit, and to a lesser extent Moolah.

As long as Mattel is making WWE figures, we won’t see another WWE made figure. I’m sure an independent company could get the likeness rights, but I’m sure his family doesn’t want to talk about him or profit off him much either. I think most have just moved on from him. We got one Mattel, and while it isn’t the ideal look, it allows collectors that want him on their shelf to have him. Outside that, I’m sure you can find someone willing to make a solid custom.

One name that collectors can bank on, as there won't ever be a Vault release.

Id imagine whoever is in control of his likeness at the moment doesn't want to or can't license him out because of their ties to the WWE. I thought him and Benoit might be eligible for the Chella Uncensored line since they were able to Dynamite Kid, but they seem to be having setbacks.
Your best bet would probably be to commission a custom or figure out how to do it yourself if you need him in your collection, that's what I plan on doing.

I was lucky enough to find this at a flea market several years ago, I probably paid five bucks for it. Might be your best bet, it's not a bad figure and likely the only Snuka we'll get at this point. geez now I might watch the "Dark Side of the Ring" on Snuka/Argentino again tonight, I can barely remember how they are so certain that he was guilty.

Have this figure, surprised me how Vince bought his freedom from the police, think things were different back then. I wouldn’t mind another snuka figure or 2 if I see them for the right price I may. As far as new figures I think the wwe and his family have moved on and don’t want to rehatch anything bad from that situation. Quick thing on snuka he performed in Lebanon PA years and years ago and went to a bar and flirted with my friends mom. Luckily she didn’t do anything with him.

Not gonna happen unfortunately and it’s understandable. I personally would love to see a barefoot snuka

There are plenty of Matt Riddle figures you can use for a custom Jimmy Snuka.

I think that Benoit is the only one that could honestly be said is 100% never ever going to be made, officially, by anyone. Owen Hart is 100% never going to be made under WWE ever, but obviously we got Jazwares, and that can possibly mean licensing COULD go elsewhere. Those are the 'top tier' of never for figures. The next tier is where Snuka & Moolah sit. I would guess New Jack is in that category too. Those are figures that most likely would never get made under WWE for their questionable past, but very well could be made elsewhere. Powertown, ZST or others could make a good run of any of these wrestlers.

It’d be cool to get an 84-85 Snuka, the era doesn’t feel complete without him.

One name that collectors can bank on, as there won't ever be a Vault release. The irony that one of the biggest shelf warmers of the early days of Mattel is now going to be one of the hardest to come by due to circumstances.

At least Mattel has learned the error of their ways and no longer take talents being under contract for granted, getting their definitive looks out ASAP. Oh wait...

Hurry up and make multiple versions of everyone under contract immediately in case the murders they committed get lots of bad press tomorrow.

Yeah, from the waist up that still holds up as a very solid depiction of him years later.

I'm not a snuka fan but really wish we had one because I'm a Piper fan and some of Piper's best moments were his feud with snuka.
