The New Gen started at King Of The Ring 93 with the death of Hulkamania. It ended at Survivor Series 97 with the end of Bret Hart’s WWF run. Thought that was commonly agreed? It's not. Even WWE has pushed the narrative Summerslam 97 was the beginning with the story mode in WWE 2k13. The adult themes during the last 3 months Bret was in WWE were part of the reason Bret decided to leave.

Hi I’ve been thinking after the amazing reveals of; Billy Gunn, JH Bradshaw, MAD Fatu and Who what other new gen characters could be possible down the line. Here are some ideas: Rockabilly The Roadie Jesse James Blackjack Bradshaw British Bulldog late 94 Diesel 96 Bam Bam Bigalow 94 123 Kidd 95/96 Sid 95 red trunks Heel Tatanka 94 Nikolai Volkoff Terry Taylor 93 Mark Henry 96 Brian Pillman KOTR 96 These are all looks that haven’t been covered yet from talents I believe are under a merchandise deal. Ignoring all the semantics over when the era started/stopped, this is a really solid list. Windham signing a legends deal with the HOF annoumcement seems likely, so I think there's a decent chance at both Blackjacks. Dudes with Attitudes HBK/Diesel would fit in. If Mable is still available, face MOM is still a want, even if we'd never have a complete team.

I feel New Gen started shortly after SS92 when Bret beat Flair for the title. It reflected the changing of the guard. Hogan was on his way out. Flair was heading back to WCW. Warrior was leaving. Macho soon was taking a back seat. Guys like Bret, Shawn, Razor were given the spotlight. And I think the official start of Attitude is Survivor Series 97 but I believe the transition started at KOTR 96 when they product started to get a bit edgier.

I start my New Gen shelves when Flair wins the WWE title, but that's just to spread out some of the bulk figs in that time frame. New Gen definitely starts when Bret beats Ric. I end the New Gen at King of the Ring 1996 and Attitude era shelves start after that. So I'm with ya 100%

As someone who lived through and watched all the programming, I’d say the new generation started right after after Bret won the title from Flair until WrestleMania 13.

New Gen Era is my sentimental favourite (do not confuse that with my favourite) it was when my parents got Sky TV so I was able to watch weekly as it happened (rather than relying on VHS releases or friends taping the events) anyways... I think Golden crossed into NG around when Bret won his first title off of Flair (late 92-93) and continued until Survivor Series 97 (a slight evolution into Attitude. here's who I'd love to see released (who hasn't already in some form)...
Kona Crush (name gives it away he was my guy) Skinner Nails (not gonna happen) Beverly Brothers Quebecers (surely that's a work around for the Mountie) Jeff Jarrett Giant Gonzales Mr. Hughes Patriot Marty Jannetty Techno Team 2000 Aldo Montoya Todd Pettengil Adam Bomb
honestly I think Mattel have done a good job with what has been released (will be released) to cover this era

From a historical, looking back point of view, Summerslam 97 could make sense because that when the shift began. But the branding and logo started at Survivor Series and, in the moment, that was the turning point of the perspective switch of the death of kayfabe and all that. It really depends on what perspective you take, the events as they happened, or the historical perspective now that the dust has settled. Regardless, I hope we get a ton of New Gen figures, mainly because there is so many wild, crazy gimmicks in that era that would go great on my wrestlecrap shelf. I cannot WAIT for MAD Fatu and the rest. Gimme that sweet sweet plastic, yep yep yep.

The new generation logo was still being used a month after Montreal. Another thing pointing to WWE recognizing the start of the Attitude era as Summerslam 97 is Peacock listing Raws from August 97 under Attitude era. The death of kafabe was long before Survivor Series 97. When Vince announced wrestling wasn't a sport in 1989 to avoid regulations from athletic commissions.

I want this Bodyguard Diesel and I wouldn't say no to another Hbk from 93 or so. I dont think it will happen as it's very close to one released but a jimmy hart with mega maniacs or wwf hulk attire. Wouldn't mind a money inc jimmy either.

New Generation wasn't until Wrestlemania XI until Survivor Series 1997 in my opinion. Summerslam 92-SSeries 96. New gen was born with Hogan leaving and Bret headlining SS. Attitude era began with Austin and Bret kicking off their rivalry.

Also, according to the same article, WWE lists Wrestlemania 13 as the start of the attitude era, because that was the first chronological entry on the network for that era. So really, I think the thing is that it's all a pot of mud. Nobody will ever agree on this stuff because half the time, WWE can't make up their own minds on it.

The common consensus seems to have it starting late 92/early 93 to late 97...that's a solid 4 years. I don't think there is a specific beginning to end date for any 'era'

I just don't buy use of a logo means a start of an era. Hell they were still using the new generation logo well into 1998 for PPV materials, and Austin's new belt he received after WM14 had the old WWF logo on it. I don'think the belt had the scratch logo until Survivor Series 98 It's been WWE position for years Attitude era started in August 97, and I'll stick with that. That's when they decided to go all in on the crash tv/ Jerry Springer style of booking.

I always felt like there were 2 stages to the new generation
The first part of New gen with Razor,Diesel, doink, lex etc and then the latter half with vader, ahmed, mankind, goldust etc.
The latter half of the new gen era bleeds into the attitude era
