The last time that the WWE held a lumberjack/lumberjill match was the May 17th episode of Monday Night RAW featuring Damian Priest vs. John Morrison but the AEW did have a lumberjill match on Collision last month. Rumor has it that Triple H was never a fan of those types of matches.

I find them pretty meh. Heel lumberjacks attack the bad guy. Good lumberjacks just throw the heel back in the ring. Something something something then they all fight.

These matches were the only time Val Venis used to appear on RAW after 2003

I’m sure the nwa had a few, but I can’t think of a single solid lumberjack match really. just a feud enhancing stip at the end of the day

I can't even remember a single Lumberjack match that I liked, so that says it all for me.

I feel like it's a pretty old school stipulation. Like a "Well we can't afford a steel cage so just have these guys out there instead." Never been a big fan.

There used to be one every Wrestlemania to get everyone in the locker room an appearance.

There used to be one every Wrestlemania to get everyone in the locker room an appearance. Well actually, I only counted 5 total Lumberjack Matches having occurred at Mania, the first two being held on the same card at WM 23 in 2007. In contrast, 18 battle royals have occurred in WM history featuring at least some active WWE talents (the Gimmick Battle Royal at WM X7 featured stars of the past invited back for the show). Only twice did multiple Battle Royals occur on the same Mania card in 2018 and 2019, when a women's equivalent to the Andre Memorial Battle Royal was attempted to be established. The three other LJ matches occurred on Mania cards that also featured a Battle Royal. Three of the LJ matches featured men and two featured the women talents. Three were championship contests, and three featured tag team opponents. And in 2011, what originally was billed as a 1v1 LJ Match for the US Championship was changed midmatch into a non-title Battle Royal being won by Great Khali, who was neither the US titleholder nor challenger going into the show.

I liked them. The ring was safest place and if you got threw out you entered the lions den.
I also had many of them in my figure fed back in the day.

Honestly there would be more use now. It’s definitely just a story enhancer match. But it would work good for bloodline civil war (smaller lumberjack match) or something.
Definitely felt like we got them wayyyy more in the late 00s and early-mid 2010s
I mean it’s simple but repetitive concept. They’re still fun. Repetitive like the contract signing 9//10 ends in a physical confrontation
