I am buying a birthday present for an underprivileged kid at my church and I need some advice. He's turning 8 and his favorite wrestler is Cody. Is there an easy to find ring attire Cody in the stores now? I think he already has roman and a ring. Is there an easy to find heel I can buy too? I only look for legends for myself and don't pay much attention to current roster releases.
I also would love to buy some bonus figs cheap maybe at Ollie's or tj Maxx etc. Any ideas?

If you can find the side shipper at Target the E111 Cody is in it. And there’s also the Knuckle Crunchers Cody.

Ollie's has the "Batman" Rey Mysterio Elite right now on shelves for I think $12.99...... Superstars Ric Flair for $3.99...... and many still have the 4-pack (Hogan, Rock, Becky, Stone Cold) for $29.99...... sometimes they have a few Basics too....
Also check Big Lots - they often have figures for below-retail prices.
Also check Amazon.... sometimes they have deals. Or will Ringside be having a "Labor Day" Sale? Sometimes you can find some steals there..... right now it's an "All In" Sale, but seems like they're always having some sort of sale....

probably best to just go to stores around you and look to see what they have/if they have anything
unless you want to look online. eBay or a similar website may be a good option

You’re in Cincinnati, right? Try Toy Dept for some cheap figs. I believe they have a decent selection of MOC somewhat recent figs. Or grab a bunch of loosies and box um up real nice.

As far as modern talent, I don’t watch any of the weekly shows and only the big 3 PPVs and catch some stuff through social media. From what I can tell the most featured guys are:
Cody, Roman, Solo, Punk, Drew, Dom, the Yeet Uso, and Gunther
*Punk and Drew probably not on shelves tho unless you can find AEW Punk

The kids mother apparently told him they are too broke to buy him a bday present so all of the school aged kids parents decided to contribute something for him. I found out his favorite wrestlers are Cody, Dom, and rey. I bought some heroes of goo zoo or whatever they are called but I may take them back if I can find proper elites or basics. I spent about 42 on the heroes of goo zu and I would like to stay in that range. |

Cheapest figures you can possibly get if you don't know him well.
I find buying things for kids an underwhelming feeling and experience to say the least.
Im envisioning this kid not caring too much about a toy, and then just throwing it around and leaving it for dead after a few minutes.
Possibly Basics Top Picks Cody, Roman and Cena set.

Head to walmart and grab him a couple basics. Get a cody if it’s absolutely necessary but im sure a good guy and a bad guy basic will bring an 8yr just as much joy and doesnt know any better or difference. |

Do not get him something out of scale with the normal WWE toys. Trust me on this. They will go in the closet untouched. Main Event, Championship Showdown, and Elite is what you want to look for. Ultimates have a bunch of extra articulation that kids don’t need and they’re $32 a pop. You get 2 Main Event figures for less than that. Even the Elite figures are pricy for a kid.
Oh, and you don’t need to get the biggest stars for a kid that plays with toys. I had X-Men, Star Wars, Power Rangers, GI Joe, WWF, etc as a kid and I bought plenty of the B- and C-list characters. Sometimes you want a deep roster to play with.
