I got the Katana Chance loose off eBay and I do have a few gripes with it, I knew the look wasn't the best but it seems they use the old basic leg mold meaning her legs can't extend as far as the new figures, Kayden can do a full superkick and can almost do splits where as Katana stops where the old women's basics did.
Her right arm is also pretty hard to move around, not as big of an issue with left but still stiff.
Only picked up to have them both since I've wanted them since 2020, they just could have done a lot better with the part choices.

I feel you on this. I stick to elites only but I'll pick up a basic if I like the head scan in case I want to use it on an elite in the future. I got Kayden for that reason because her head scan was nice. But I had to pass on Katana all together because that has to be one of the worst figures mattel has released ever. The part choices are so sloppy. The only reasoning I can think of (if thought was even put into it) is that this was the only part combo they had to get her that short, as she's the shortest women on the roster. But then Kayden is like a whole inch taller than she shpuld be so what's the point lol.
I avoid basics because 9 times out of 10 there's something wrong with the women in the line. Hopefully these 2 get elites soon.
I always worry that Mattel uses the basics to determine if the women will sale enough to warrant an elite. But they don't release it isn't the women's popularity/fault it's their own crappy part choices that turn people away lol.
I just hope Alba and Isla get elites straight out the gate!

I never noticed the old basic legs but you’re right. I think its a great looking figure and her and Kayden look great together and seem in scale but sucks they cut corners to get some of these to us specially with the price points now and days. I miss when the lady basics had elite articulation, those were the days!
