Mattel BCA Style Figure Line - would it be possible?

Its possible except nobody will buy it. If their Hasbro style figures are far more popular and Mattel cant even get those in stores, what chance does a BCA style line have?

They get a far far less popular Remco style figure in the stores. So it’s not crazy to think

I agree with this. I grew up on BCA but would much rather have a line, like the Ruthless Aggression line, that covers specific BCA looks but upgraded to elites/ultimates

Honestly BCA is the one line that I had zero interest in, even when they were popular.

I just didn't think they looked any good. Then or now. Were they supposed to be cartoony (like Hasbros)? It's like they were trying to make "real" looking figures for the time but they still looked cartoony to me. Maybe it's just me.

I have very few BCA's in my 40 year collection because they just never looked good to me. Sorry.

Personally I'd rather see an homage to the WCW Galoob series.

I think a one-time tribute series would be pretty cool. Born in 1987 and started watching wrestling in 1993, so the BCA line was right in my wheelhouse.

My brother and I began our wrestling figure journey during the twilight of the Hasbro era and always took advantage of the running 3/$10 sale at KB Toys which helped us build up a solid collection despite jumping in so late. By the time 1995 was in full swing, it was obvious that there weren't any new Hasbro figures coming out. These were the days before the Internet so when we eventually saw the new BCA lineup from Jakks on the pegs it was such a mind-blowing experience because we had no clue they were coming.

The Hasbro fed we ran was getting outdated quick so it was awesome to have a fresh wave of figures based on the current product. They were bigger than Hasbros, but not as bulky as LJNs and offered the best articulation yet which was a huge deal because the previous wrestling toys were so limited in that regard. We played the hell out of those figures and were all in on Jakks for years to come.

I do realize that I am biased with these toys because they were the ones I mainly grew up playing with as a kid. There are so many fond memories of going to the store and seeing a new wave for the first time. It is hard to describe, but those simpler times are impossible to replicate now with information being so easily available online and the shift away from traditional brick & mortar retail.

However, I am willing to take off my nostalgia goggles and admit that certain aspects of the Jakks BCA line have not aged gracefully. Like many early 3D video games from that same era of the mid/late 90s, they were fun back then, but look a little rough around the edges these days. It is easy to understand people thinking they felt "cheap" as there were often issues with loose limbs and inaccurate parts being used constantly. Some of the faces looked great, but many were just terrible looking back. Not being overly critical, but again being able to admit that these were definitely not perfect toys. Still, if you grew up on BCAs you know just how special they were.

I get everyone wanting mattel to make these but they wouldn't be the same then everyone would complain about it and stop buying causing the line to fail with loss of profit from the budget to make, i mean if everyone truly wants them like they say and there's actual money to be made from it jakks is still around as company so if they could work out some kinda agreement with wwe and mattel with all the licensing rights they could probably go back to making strictly bca style figures of legends and current talent as long as it's not interfering with anything but seriously wouldn't you want them to be the one's who remake that style line over everyone else since they are who created it all to begin with
