I just noticed it today, but a lot of new figures and their accessories I got are stamped Made in Vietnam. Maybe this will keep the price from going up again.

If I remember correctly, SH Figuarts quality went down for a bit once they started being manufactured in Vietnam, so hopefully that's not the case with Mattel

I don't want to be that person but there's entire threads on this forum about how QC has been a dumpster fire lately and if they've changed their production location/methods, that might be a reason why. |

The best QC issue I've ever seen is there was some factory workers thumb print embedded in 123 Kid's chest paint.. ya know.. cause they stopped casting torsos in flesh tone.

I know people here get really upset about QC issues -- and it's not great when happens to me -- but I also think about the people sitting in those factories all day, often in horrible conditions, working on these -- and it really puts things in perspective...

It was a big talking point in the community for a while, but thankfully the QC has been fine for the most part after the first few Vietnam produced releases. |

I know people here get really upset about QC issues -- and it's not great when happens to me -- but I also think about the people sitting in those factories all day, often in horrible conditions, working on these -- and it really puts things in perspective... This is a hot topic. If standards for the workers in those fabrics are risen, prices would be too. Personally I’d gladly pay 2-3 $/€ more but I don’t think I am in the majority. |

The last figure I got was the Kofi TMNT one and it has the absolute worst paint QC I've seen on a figure from any line, maybe ever.

The only way mattel with address these qc issues is if it gets so bad that a recall is needed. I doubt that will ever happen so good luck.
Paint defects are pretty random, figures would literally have to fall apart or shatter for them to take action.

Mattel would have to be handing out vouchers for replacements like candy for it to get bad enough to take action. I do not think its ever gotten that bad. |

I took a look at 5 figures I bought this year (BP British Bulldog, RSC Vault Ultimate Warrior, Elite Lex Luger, UE22 John Cena, Elite LA Knight) and only the Ultimate Edition Cena was Made in Vietnam. |

I took a look at 5 figures I bought this year (BP British Bulldog, RSC Vault Ultimate Warrior, Elite Lex Luger, UE22 John Cena, Elite LA Knight) and only the Ultimate Edition Cena was Made in Vietnam. Survivor Series, Monday Night War 3 & 4, Elite 111 all have the Vietnam stamp. SummerSlam, Monday Night War 2, Elite 110, and whatever Main Event 150 seem to have the China stamp. So it seems to be pretty new. |

The Vietnam figures seem to have started with Elite 111, Monday Night Wars 3, and Survivor Series. So all those QC issues were still in China because everything I got prior to those lines I mentioned are still stamped Made in China. |

I wonder if molds and tooling are owned by the factories which means China would still be making certain waves that uses old molds and tooling. |
