To be honest, I hope not, because I think it will end up turning into another WWE or TNA. They will hire all kinds of non talented, muscular bastards to keep the TV ratings higher and reel in more cash, and forget what its like in the good ole' independent days. with good wrestling.

Umm, what do you call Pay Per View? I mean, sure it's not ratings, but it's a "TV Deal."
Anyways, if you get to know the product, you'll realize that TV does nothing for them.. Say what you want about exposure, but ROH has became a global company on their own, without it, highly respected in the UK and Japan. The Company makes its profit off DVD sales, there's to many reasons why ROH doesn't need to worry about cable emphasis right now.

TV is not always a good thing. To produce a good tv show it costs money. Even if the tv show is good there is no telling that anything would come from it. ROH would have to prove that there is a realistic market for their product. If the PPV buys were some outrageous number than maybe they could try tv again. Right now is not the right time to do it though.

I hope not. It'd force them to change the product drastically.

No, because they would go from 3 hr events, to 1 hr events, and that would kill their product IMO. I say, let them have their PPV deal, and let them slowly get bigger under the table.

TV=Sports Entertainment. ROH, as of right now, would be cancelled midway through the season. Mainstream fans wouldnt watch it and would become bored with it.

Gabe has said multiple times he doesnt want it to be on TV. It means he has to answer to sponsors and etc. & it would kill the product, much like it has for TNA

I honestly hope they don't. I love it how it is at the moment. The shows and the PPV bi-monthly. It just works for ROH.

ROH is on TV in Canada on The Fight Network. TFN runs MMA and Wrestling from around the world and they are going to try to get a deal here in the US next year. Check it out: www.thefightnetwork.com/schedule_0107a.htmlIf enough people are interested, I'd advise that you contact TFN and see what fans should do to get them clearance here.

He doesn't have a clue how to book for TV purposes. I mean, sure the PPVs are working swell, but if he only had an hour or two(which is pushing it) and had to accept that commercials take up a percentage of that. He'd probably have to resort to clipping as he'd barely get half an unedited show in the alloted TV time.

I think if anything ROH should steal the idea of TNA and get weekly PPV's for 5-10 dollars depending on how long they are. Get a 30 minute tv deal for something similar to their video wire on youtube but extended to hype their PPV (showing maybe 1 match). If a new audience is picked up through this, then maybe going to TV only if it's 2 hours. 1 hour would be useless for ROH, unless they do it correctly which is a little difficult with such a good roster of talent to showcase. They would just end up having the same problem TNA currently has. Hopefully good things come out of TNA with their 2 hour slot, I just found it funny that the only thing TNA is hyping for this 2 hour slot is the Team Pacman match

They kind of do have a TV deal at least here in Canada. The Fight Network shows old RoH shows, in 2 hour blocks, once a week (sometimes twice). I think they are up to Final Battle 2005 so far.
As for PPV, RoH is doing fantastic, as their PPV's are easily the highest in wrestling quality of the year. Hopefully next year they move to a PPV every 2nd month (every month would be overkill) and maybe even progress to the point of LIVE PPV's
Overall, RoH's product is perfect where it is, very organic growth.

I hope not. It'd force them to change the product drastically. Bingo. Gabe has stated that he would not get TV unless it is in their benefit without changing the product. So a TV deal probably won't happen, and I hope it doesn't, cuz I love ROH how it is now. We don't want ROH to be the new ECW; too big to be small and too small to be big.

I hope not. It'd force them to change the product drastically. Exactly, TV would be the death of ROH. Like stated before, they would pretty much turn out like TNA, hiring guys for ratings instead of entertaining the fans. I think PPV is as far as they should go but I would like to see weekly PPV's like TNA did, that way their product could stay the same and fans could keep up with it better. Shelling out $15.00 per DVD gets costly after a while.

I hope they dont. If anything, a clip show would be cool. Possible showing off their past matches and what not. A current show would water down their product, as it did with TNA. Which i would hate. I do like the idea of a weekley PPV like TNA did in the past. That would be great to see.

ROH doesn't need, nor do they want a TV deal.
TV killed ECW, or so Heyman would have you believe. ROH Need not go the same way.
PPV and DVD's are a good business model right now for ROH. if they can get a two hour times slot on a network that will let ROH do things their way. As that is an unlikelihood I along with most ROH would rather things stayed the way it is right now, at least for a while to come.
