What a clueless referee performance in that main event. He should be kayfabe fined/reprimanded for abadoning the match to check on fans when 20 empty headed security guards were already there doing it. Refs must be punished for this kind of incompetence. It's been 25+ years without any decision makers taking action for these walnut brain zebras It's the complete non-sensical world of pro wrestling. The dumbest refereeing EVER was the ol' Eddie Guererro, put the chair beside your opponent and then lay down and pretend he hit you with it. Ref didn't see anything yet STILL renders a dq? To quote Steve Austin, WHAT? The referee is making a decision based on something he didn't even see? He heard a BANG and that was good enough? You're right. The only thing dumber than the referees is the seemingly utter incompetence of management. Someone is in the back (Pearce right now) seeing all of these referee mistakes and he doesn't step in and rectify the situation? No reversal of the decision, no re-match, no dq etc. He just let's the matches and champions of the multi billion dollar company he operates be decided by dimwits................ It's hilarious how ridiculously over the top stupid wrestling is. We as fans let so many things go simply because it's wrestling. My girlfriend walked in as Rhea was beating up Dom. She asked me, "Why is that guy getting stuffed in a tiny cage?" I felt the shame of being a wrestling fan as I explained to her that the women were going to wrestle and they are preventing Dom from interfering by suspending him above the ring in a shark cage. |

I liked the Last Monster Standing match. Attitude Era hardcore always gets a pop from me. Chokeslam through the announce table looked good. RIP to the monitor. Bronson did a good job of coming off the apron through the chairs after the Braun tackle. Braun was running like he had 2 broken legs during that spot. WTF was that? I really liked Bronson Reed's Rolling Slam I mean Fireman's Carry Slam I mean Death Drop Driver I mean Death Valley Driver off the equipment through the tables. I thought the barricade breakages looked weak. The fake fans with their fake injuries looked really bad. This was some of the dumbest refereeing ever here but it allowed them to set up Strowman's dive off the top to the floor, which I thought looked AWESOME. I didn't care for the ring breaking. Same ol same ol. I know they couldn't do it, but a superplex (both guys on the top turnbuckle) with the broken ring would have got a reaction from me.
This was a really fun hardcore meat match.

Even when the refs f up in real life, the commentators are quick to say they blew the call. These distracted referee spots & interference finishes are so passe now. If anything the GMs should have a second official on the outside during matches from members of factions (this has been a stipulation used before for matches). Why would it not be commonplace due to the mass cases of interference & referees losing control of matches. Also the wrestlers themselves should not be getting distracted by outside forces in 2024. Even if there is a brief physcial interaction, the first instincts of the wrestler should always be to shift their focus back to their opponent. |
