You can always tell who didn’t really watch the shows and just follows the sheep with the cornette-isms
Really solid show I thought. I only skipped the tag title match and the Jericho match because I’m beyond tired of Jericho and the Bucks stale acts, but everything else I really liked. Takeshita finally getting some gold was nice to see, that three way was freakin nuts and I wasn’t really sure which way it would go.
Main event angle was fine. I haven’t really gotten into the Mox stuff but I am interested in having this be Darby getting his first world title. He could possibly recruit Brody and maybe the rest of house of black for some sweet multi man matches.

According to the first, they have a plan for the bucks (may or may not be golden lovers) and are just kinda waiting for that. There was a push for either private party or Kyle and Orange to get the spot at the ppv with a push that private party needed it more.

That was a freaking great show. What's the phrase? Feeling restored. I still like my Christian/Copeland idea better but psycho killer Mox is some of the best work he's done in AEW and this should be a lot of fun. Huge night for private party, and goddamn do I love Lucha style wrestling.
That is exactly what I want out of AEW. It's like the deal being done just took the stress away and now they can just go back to their identity.

I can't wipe the smile off my face from this show. TK kayfabing the hospital trip with Bryan instead of the media scrum was nice. Mox winning and TK not doing the scrum really lays into Mox's line about it not being TKs company anymore.
Awesome crowd too, they kept the energy all night.

I haven’t been able to watch yet but should be able to tonight - I’ll leave a segment by segment analysis for the f of it
mox winning, after the amount of investment in the BCC and his return AEW has made in its programming, shouldn’t have been too much of a surprise.

Terrible show. But God forbid someone doesn't like it. That main event finish was fuct and you can't convince me that wet fart of a finish was the way to go. I'm not saying you can't have Bryan pass out to the sleeper. Not saying that at all. But the way it happened where it looked like Mox was hugging him and then the match is over...get bent. J-MANN and Back to the Codyverse, I'm telling you.. the sickos could sit in The Pontiac Superdome with 1,100 other stinking sickos and act like we're the ones missing out. |

I swear all of wrestling discussion online is just one giant larp'ing of that meme template that ends with the one friend screaming "Stop having fun!".
But, that's just entertainment. Music, movies, sports, whatever. In person most people are way better about having different preferences. (*Most lol).
At one of the first AEW shows I went to (actually maybe the first now that I think of it) my buddy and I were chilling in a sports bar before the show and just started pounding em back with a couple of Cornette hardcores and we all had a great time. (People just kind of spotted each other with aew shirts and started hanging out. We liked different parts about aew but it was still a ton of fun.
Now the couple we met at forbidden door, yikes. But that had nothing to do with wrestling lmao. Dude had waaaaaaaay too many and I'm pretty sure he torched his entire relationship that night. Dude also needed a good shot to the face for being such a drunken knob to his presumably ex misses.

Finally got to actually watch the show.
Page/White. Why did this match happen? The ending was cool, but they totally wasted everything about this. Page just main evented the previous PPV by KOing a former world champion and he's doing a job to open the next one?
May/Willow. I liked Willow, but she got the stop/start treatment. Match was fine.
Perry/Shibata. What was this finish? Who is booking this? Why did they give the whiny heel this clever way to beat a better opponent? Just have Perry cheat to beat Shibata (or maybe try giving your young champion a clean win over a 40+ year old vet) and save that finish for Darby beating a bigger heel.
Glad to see MJF back, but I don't know what they're going to do with this Garcia/MJF story. Either of them losing after returning is going to cut them off at the knees if they don't do it right. No clue how Cole is a face now.
Triple Threat. I like Takeshita. Ricochet is completely meaningless and just on of the flippy wrestlers in record time.
Hologram/Mortos. Completely skipped this match. Never was given a reason to care.
King/Allin. This was fine. I like Darby and am glad he won.
Tag Titles. This was basically every Bucks match they've ever worked
Jericho/Briscoe. Usually skip anything Jericho, but I love Mark Briscoe too much. They were right to have him win.
Main Event. If Danielson is injured and the belt had to get off of him there are a million different ways to do it. Better off just having him announce he needs surgery, blame it on the Mox attack or something and have him vacate it so he can come back later. I don't know why they had to pick the most anti-climatic finish possible.
The Yuta thing was so melodramatic and pointless. He turned against his trios champion heel buddies for less that two months and then now he's a heel again with them? They keep trying to tell these year+ long stories in the span of a month.

page/white - really good match to start things. I think Jay needed a big w after returning and this definitely won’t be the last time these two meet. I feel like page’s knee is often ‘tweaked’ in his matches
willow/maria - willow’s pounce move looks sick.
shibata/scapegoat jack - I’m pretty much over seeing Perry on my screen, this match didn’t do much for me. mjf clean shaven is a look. Garcia I am also not huge on
