Both lines are cool. I am an attitude era baby so MNW is hittin' but Legends has a more broad spectrum and there's a lot of appeal for me there.
I can also count on always finding the legends line whereas the MNW figures are victims of Walmart.

I'd be very interested to see how the number of figures produced and sold compares between Walmart and Target exclusives. Also if Walmart keeps asking for them maybe Mattel should demand they actually sell them properly but once sold to them I doubt Mattel cares how they are handled afterwards as they have made thier money.

Target is definitely pretty easy to get the Legends. I really wish the MNW was available somewhere else. All I have seen is Hogan & Triple H one time each since the line launched π

Make the mainline elites exclusive to Walmart and everything else exclusive to target.

I believe its as simple as Target maintains its space in the retail world by taking great care of customers and trying to doing right by employees. They evolve to stay competitive and understand big things that make a difference to customers that will keep them coming back -- like stocked shelves, accurate inventory, prompt service, and honoring preorders. And Walmart is just Walmart, plenty of Americans just know Walmart shopping as a way of life. They do not care about customers or employees. They know that low prices will keep customers shopping there and a lot of people don't mind poor (or no) customer service, being herded around a store like animals, and overall poor quality -- because at the end of the day, its the store that is most affordable for home staples. People are just too dumb and complacent. It's why everything is so subpar in this country, Healthcare, Insurance, Wages, Opportunity, politics, everything. People are just too dumb and herd minded. They just accept the most mindless drone like mediocrity possible and fall for the dumbest things and anybody that knows how to fast talk or hustle them. They are happy just "Existing" comfortably. They don't care that it may make those people in worse situations than them that would LOVE to at LEAST be able to COMFORTABLY exist, instead of claw and scrape just to SURVIVE (the poor, the disabled, the sick, the marginalized) and if making things just a MINOR inconvenience for literally 5 minutes would make it so the people like that are able to exist comforably, they raise a stink and push back. And here's the kicker...those people are almost ALWAYS ONE STEP AWAY FROM THAT HAPPENING TO THEM...but they don't pay attention to that...or care...as long as it doesn't happen to them. That is why we are where we are. 100%. All of Europe participated in protests during the (youknow) while in this country people just accepted it. In this country Noone does anything about until it happens to your sister. Things didn't used to be this way. We should not accept the Walmart shopping experience. Yet most people do. And in the end mattel is stuck with Walmart cuz of hot wheels and barbies.

Wal-Mart should never have exclusive lines with debut characters. If they were repaints it would be ok, because if they were missed its no big deal. The Greatest Hits line has a bunch of Wal-Mart exclusives that they failed to stock. K-Mart, K-B toys, Toys R Us handled exclusives much better. Target got their act together after some hiccups.
Monday Night Wars is a good line has a great list of guys that I would get, Disciple, Vincent, nWo Dusty, Teddy Long, Fake Diesel, but being saddled with Wal-Mart it's been terrible. Issues are known with their hoorrendous online ordering I pre-ordered SuperStars figures wave 3 only for them to get cancelled. The RattleSnake Mountain ring that they also screwed me on. Even the Masters of the Universe Origins Terroar and Lord G'rasp that they failed with that I got thru secondary sources.
Waiting on Greatest Hits announcement for Torrie Wilson, and Eric Bischoff to get those figures in my collection

Seeing as how pretty much all of these exclusives end up only being available to me on ebay for a 2x or more upcharge, sounds fine by me. I'll happily pay 35 dollars retail for an exclusive that I can purchase outright, if it means I'm not paying 50 dollars for it on ebay. I mean, that's probably not a beneficial option for anyone else, but the question did involve my personal opinion and, if it was up to me, for me, yes. Put them all on ringside.

Mattel should just put out undesirable figures as Walmart exclusives with no build a part figures, so us collectors don't care if we never see them on the pegs.
No fisrt in the line figs.

Put them all on ringside. the whole thing about collecting action figures as a hobby that made sense to me was that they are $20-25 a piece. when i was a kid they were $5-10 a piece, thats another convo. its a relatively small dent, financially speaking-you could conceivably get 4 figures for about $100, still a pretty good deal as far as hobby stuff goes as an adult. its not an electric guitar for $2000, its not another motorcycle for $12000, its not a new swingmaster 8000 golf club for $17000. its not another BMW for $30,000. they are action figures that can be had for $20. cool. and guess what you can walk right into your local merchandise store and buy them! rad! somehow over the past 5 years the system has become SO FLAWED that we are all now OKAY with paying MORE THAN RETAIL PRICE AND SHIPPING for a $20 figure. that same action figure that you SHOULD be able to drive to wal mart/target/best buy/ollies/big lots/kmart/shopko/toysrus and buy for $20 off the peg is now being marketed as a $35 figure BASE PRICE and guess what $10-12 for shipping. so now a BASE PRICE $20 FIGURE IS NOW $40 EXCUSE ME. its sucks that literally the only way to fight this is to just not buy figures. "boss we listed the new main event cm punk figure at $40 and THEYRE STILL BUYING!!!" 'good smithers. we'll list the next on starting at $50.'

I purchase more Legends than anything, so no, I definitely would not want to see them moved to Walmart.

Target has done an amazing job with the legends line. I've personally had very little trouble finding walmart exclusive figures as well. I think the biggest thing I've got working in my favor is I live in North Dakota where the population is low. Seems like my local Walmart gets everything, albeit slow. Usually not the first person to find new figures, but they get them sooner or later.

That said, when the new site layout went live and it listed your ENTIRE order history, I was able to look back at my very first order somewhere around 2017, and I still paid 28 dollars before shipping for a Alexa Bliss elite, and 17 dollars for the Corey Graves basic, so the prices have increased across the board, but not as much as I think we believe they did. 30-40 dollars for a basic is insane though. I'm usually one to praise Ringside but that's pretty shady, I can't lie.

Personally, I think the MNW line has been pretty terrible overall. There have been some highlights and some upcoming series look awesome, but I only have found myself wanting like 20% of the figures in that line. The Legends series is always straight fire. Just in the last year or two it has given us Paul E, Headshrinkers, Brother Love, Nation D'lo and Kama, Lou Albano, Sultan, Big Bubba Rogers, Rosey and Jamal, Neidhart/Who, Awesome looking Angle, Smokin Billy Gunn, Throwback Carlito, Great Muta, Justin Hawk, WCW Rick Rude etc. Monday Night Wars has been mostly guys in street gear, or repaints, or re-releases. But I am encouraged with the direction of MNW, it has definitely improved
Both of them being Target exclusives would be best case scenario lol. Walmart is an absolute nightmare, just like it was with the RA line. I would be much more frustrated if it was the other way around. I can't even imagine the frustration if a figure like Captain Lou Albano was a Walmart exclusive and I could never find it.
