While I’m happy about champion vs champion returning and being the running theme for Crown Jewel, that meaningless third title doesn’t need to be a part of it. Curious to see if we get Jey vs Knight as well too.

These shows will never be more than glorified house shows. I don't care what gimmick they try for them. There is just no stakes. The most famous thing to ever happen at these shows was Titus O'Neil falling.

It’s an event that doesn’t matter. Just like this Nope, it’s an event that isn’t televised. Unlike this. These random match ups that ignores the concurrent storylines from the main shows doesn't make it feel like it's worth televising, that's the issue.
I mean, take away the PLE name and the broadcasting, and what do you have?
I mean, The Fiend won his first Universal Championship and Seth was crowned the first World Heavyweight Champion at Saudi shows but yeah “no stakes.” Wrestling fans sure do love to complain about wrestling.
That feud between Seth and the Fiend was pretty bad though. I'm sure you remember that HIAC fiasco that took place prior. I didn't remember his universal championship win until you mentioned it. I think bad booking and the execution with his character really overshadowed that moment. And I've been a huge Bray fan. His first world title win at the Elimination Chamber was way more memorable.
Also, Seth won his title at an event that was never marketed like a house show, so NOC doesn't count.
I mean if you only care for the wrestling and the joker's wild stuff just for the fun of it, then hey...more power to you. Especially if you're there in person. But as a weekly watcher, I still like to have the stories go along with it. It keeps the tension going. If you're putting that on hold temporarily just for an annual thing, then there's really not much of a reason for me to care for these matches.

How much longer is left on this contract lol I feel like Vince must’ve signed his life away and that WWE has to run events there until the end of time 😂 Not to mention the propaganda sprinkled in about how excited the WWE superstars are to be there and how great of a place it is to live and visit
They keep trying to make the events feel important but they just never will.
Greatest Royal Rumble? Night of Champions? Best in the World Tournament?
Now this stupid title that only exists during this specific event and then will never be mentioned in programming until the following year when it’s time to run the event back? Yeah, that really makes me care about that title and these shows. 💀

You could turn on RAW the next week without ever knowing what happend at these Saudi shows. Avoiding spoilers & tuning in to see what happened would be more exciting than actually watching the show itself

I wonder the logistics of attending one of these Saudi shows haha Originally if I remember right, the first few had like high profiled figures and rich people in the audience sitting at literal dining tables in the front rows. There were regular people/fans sprinkled in though. I’m not sure which event it was but eventually they started having every day people being allowed to be at the shows and sit front row. Unsure how one gets tickets because I feel like I’ve never seen them advertise “tickets on sale now” for these shows nor has ticket master or stub hub. Which is strange because they’ll advertise events in other countries having tickets on sale, etc. lol maybe they don’t want foreigners traveling to come to the shows. I wouldn’t be surprised if people can just show up to the event and sit wherever they want as a first come first serve thing |
