Just wanted to see how long you guys think Nigel will be champion for?
Me I have fear of him dropping at Final Battle, but I hope he holds it long enough to defend it on ppv a few times.

I say anywhere from 2 Months(Final Battle), to sometime around maybe early summer if not losing it at Final Battle.

I think he will have a pretty long run and he will be the top guy for awhile unless Danielson beats him.

He'll have it well into 2008, I believe.

I have a feeling he's not gonna have it for very long. He deserves it no doubt and I hope I'm wrong but when you look at how many main event programs he can have there's really only Danielson, Aries, and maybe Strong. Nigel/Claudio, Nigel/Albright Nigel/Hero etc don't strike me as main event matches that are gonna keep people into the product. If Hero was built right then Hero/Nigel would be great. Same with Richards. If Davey was still the main event caliber star he was a year ago he would no doubt be a threat to Nigel's title but not now. I see Nigel losing it fairly quickly(3-4 months if that) to Danielson. I hope I'm wrong but ROH doesn't really like face champions to last too long with the exception of Joe.

I hope Aries takes it.

I think he'll have it through the airing of the January PPV a least. I'd say even into mid spring, maybe WM weekend if they have stacked cards again this year. While I'm glad Nigel is champ now, I hope Aries gets it next

I could see him having a short reign like Homicide. I'm not sure who will beat him though. I would like to see someone else have the belt besides Dragon.

I think he will have a short reign much like Homicide, because even though he's over with the fans, I don't think he'd be over enough with the pay-per-view audience. We all love him because we know his struggle to win the title, but people that have just started watching ROH are clueless to it.
I'd love to see the belt back on Danielson, but I'm just a big American Dragon mark. I say just give the belt to Larry Sweeney. He doesn't even have to wrestle...just hand him the title.

I think that one of the P161 members will end up getting the belt off Nigel or somewhere in the future so they can show how "dominant of a force" they are in ROH by also maybe getting the Tag Belts.

If he can maintain his over status I think he will keep it until the UK shows where he will drop it.

I think he will/should keep it for a while. I disagree with ascentofjake, I think he DOES appeal to the PPV audience, most of whom are ROH fans, but those who aren't, he has a great look and size and is a good wrestler, plus he's just kind of a bad ass. I think that he can hold down the top spot very believably, more so than Homicide, and I think his run will be much longer.
On a somewhat related note, it kind of sucks that the PPVs are aired so long after the tapings because it kind of ruins the title matches following, because they probably won't have it drop not on a PPV... maybe they will, but they're in a weird spot now.

It'll probably last until after the 5TH ppv airs. I don't think he would lose it before it airs and I think they would want him to defend it at least once on ppv. He won it on the 4th ppv, defends it on the 5th, and loses it on the 6th. So, he'll probably hold it until June or July of 08.

I was thinking the same thing. It almost loses the unpredictable part of it, where the title could change hands at any show. But, they could also do it where he loses the title and then they show what happens on the pay per view that follows. Who knows?

I think an Aries/Nigel feud over the belt would be amazing.

Hopefully they will keep the belt on him for many months until They get another person who is big in Japan or somewhere or maybe if Samoa Joe leaves NA he can lose it to him. Yes I know he is under contract to TNA but they sent out letters to wrestlers who are unhappy and told them they could leave if they want and I am hoping the rumors of him wanting out of TNA are true which could mean he is going back to ROH baby.
