Official ROH Respect is Earned Discussion Thread

I'm in the middle of watching it and it's pretty awesome so far. I've seen a few ROH matches before (mainly the Briscoes and Danielson, since i met him) and i enjoyed them. I do keep up to date with ROH reading results so i know who people are and such.

SO yeah, very good so far. I like the production quality. It's not super slick, but it's right. Looks good. Weird opening match with Morishima murdering Whitmer. The promo afterwards was great, really enjoyed that. Very well put together.

Marifuji [vs] Romero was very good. First time i'd seen both of them and Marifuji's coast to coast was brilliant. Wasn't a big fan of Romero though. Seemed a tad bland and didn't sell the leg injury very well. He was dancing afterwards!?

Briscoes [vs] Sydal/Castagnoli was excellent. I'm a big fan of tag team wrestling and a massive fan of the Briscoes. One of the true tag teams around today. Thought it was great. I was on the edge of my seat throughout. I liked Claudio thought he was very good. The stuff he did for a big man was great.

The angle afterwards i presume is setting up for the next PPV. Was an insane brawl, very awesome.

Oh and the Sweeney stuff is awesome. He's great.

About to watch Strong [vs] Delirious and the main event. Great show so far. I'll report back once i've finished watching it.

Enjoyed Delirious [vs] Strong. Just thought it was a great mid-card singles match really. Setting up a six man is pretty cool aswell. Hope that's on the next PPV.

The main event i really enjoyed. I can totally see why ROH opted for a tag match instead of a ROH title defence as their main event. This way it showed new viewers (me included to an extent) the four big players in ROH all gunning for the title. It also put over Morishima, but i'll get to him in a second. I've seen Danielson before and a little bit of McGuiness but i'd never seen KENTA who i thought was awesome. Him and McGuiness are now my favourites in ROH.

As for Morishima, this was the first i'd seen of him. Not impressed. He just looked clumsy, foolish and showed no emotion at all. I know he's sort of meant to show no emotion but he just looked blank faced throughout and didn't sell moves very well. I can totally understand why he's the champ. He's your typical champion, one who is always a solid main eventer to hold the strap and book around. He's the big, powerful machine that just guns down everyone and nobody can get the belt off him. It makes sense as you are watching in hope that someone will take him down (C'mon Nigel!). I just thought he was bland aswell. Just meh.

So yeah, first full ROH show and the PPV was awesome. Really enjoyed it and introduced me to loads of new wrestler i'd never seen before. Big success in my mind and i'll definatley be watching the next PPV.
