I plan on getting 2 or 3 ROH DVD's. Which ones should I get? I am new to the product of ROH. I saw the ROH ppv today and I thought it was better than WWE and TNA. So which ones should I get?

I always recommend Supercard of Honor & Better Than Our Best. They've got a buy 3 get 1 free deal right now so if you can take advantage of it.

I'm gonna reccomend Ring of Homicide if only because the main event is crazy in a good way. Necro Butcher, anyone? I also think Fight of the Century, while having a 60 minute main event may not draw a casual fan, the card is just awesome I mean highlights being. -Corino promo -Ultimate Endurance(4 team elimination match with different stips): Austin Aries & Roderick Strong vs Irish Airborne vs Jay & Mark Briscoe vs Matt Sydal & Jack Evans -Four Corner Survival(like a 6 pack challenge where only 2 men are legal but with 4 men and only 1 fall): Nigel McGuinness vs Christopher Daniels vs Jay Lethal vs Claudio Castagnoli -Homicide & BJ Whitmer vs Steve Corino & Adam Pearce -KENTA vs Davey Richards and of course Samoa Joe vs Bryan Danielson which goes the limit, but hardly a "long, boring, repeatitive match."

- Manhattan Mayhem (Joe/Lethal VS Homicide/Low-Ki, Aries VS Shelley, Punk VS Rave, Joe VS Lethal) - Glory By Honor V Night 2 (Danielson VS KENTA, Nigel VS Marufuji, Aries/Strong VS Hero/Claudio) - Better Then Our Best (Homicide VS Cabana, Danielson VS Storm, Aries/Strong VS CIMA/Doi, Saito/Kidoh/Genki VS Shelley/Rave/Yoshino) - Fifth Year Festival: Finale (Joe VS Homicide, Nigel VS Rave, Briscoe VS Briscoe, Doi/Shingo VS Strong/Richards) You can get all of those as part of the Buy 3 Get 1 Free sale that's ongoinng. I'm gonna reccomend Ring of Homicide if only because the main event is crazy in a good way. Necro Butcher, anyone? I think that's all I ever see you talk about. Ring of Homicide really wasn't that great, and Fight of the Century is underrated but nowhere near the best ROH has done.

Duh, you haven't realized that any ROH show CBT has been to is automatically one of the best ROH has ever done? Why don't you off. By no means am I required to repeat what people have already suggested, or go off some list. If I was there, I think maybe I have a right to judge on it personally. Now, I have more than Edison, but I've only been to Edison shows so I'm slightly bias. But by no means am I saying they're all good. I thought Dethroned was a 50/50 show with an awful main event. You know I could have sworn there was a time where people could judge a show they went to live. I guess it's only accepted when it's bitching.

Its fine that you like it, but the general feeling by most is that its definitely not one of their best. You just recommend them because you were there.

I reccomend Edison shows because I don't buy DVDs that often, I follow the product but I buy when I can. That said, what sticks with me alot of the time is what I seen live just like the same would be in anyones case where you attended a really good show or crap. I could have suggested anything but those two, however they're what I would suggest to friend because those are not in my opinion, bad shows for a casual or new fan. Ring of Homicide didn't have a hugely strong card but they had at least 3 really good matches with Aries & Strong vs Briscoes, Nigel vs Lethal, and the main event. Not to mention Yang vs Rave is hardly a weak match and Cabana vs Kikutaro(sp?) is pure comedy a unique opener. Now as for FOTC. Seriously, main event aside. Me being there aside. Edison aside. Are you telling me that I shouldn't reccomend that show to anybody?

The thing is though, those are the only shows you ever recommend. Alright, fair enough, I'll suggest more since other than our last few posts no one has said much. The Bitter End- Opens up with Daniels vs Cross which I've only watched once, but I enjoyed for the most part. The aftermath with KOW is more enjoyable for Hero's punch. I can't really speak on Danielson & Rave vs Nigel & Joe as I haven't watched this dvd in a month or two but if I remember correctly, Danielson was avoiding Joe as if that is questionable. Possibly this was building to their cage match. Briscoes vs Davey & Delirious was alright though I don't think the match really clicked. Though Briscoes did take some sick kicks from Davey which I loved the sound of. KOW vs Aries & Strong- Simply put the match is got two of the best teams of that time going at it. Not much more to add than that. KENTA vs Sydal- MOTN without a doubt, I think Sydal earned a title shot in a losing effort. He brought the fight but took it too. Corino vs Cide- Fight without honor. These two seriously had one of my favorite feuds of all time. I'm a corino mark no doubt, but these two have passion when they fight. I think it's a hell of a way to end the show too. Fifth Year Festival: FinaleNobody has mentioned it and I think it's a must see of ROH's 4 UK shows. I mean BJ vs Jimmy has had some awesome reviews, and just pics of Nigel vs Rave makes me want to see that sh*t. Plus you got Sydal vs PAC who from what I hear is a man who makes gravity look like a joke. Cap it off with Joe vs Cide in Joe's last ROH match. Good show from what I hear. As for a third I'll go with Good Times, Great Memories. You'll see the best tag team wrestling money can buy.

CBT, Tazmission did mention 5YF: Finale. Maybe if you're weren't jizzing over Edison shows, you'd notice it?
EDIT: And I love that you're going to recommend shows that you haven't seen.

Plus, the Danielson/Joe 60-minute draw SUCKED. It was seriously horrible. It was probably one of the worst ROH main events since like 2003.
If there was ever a match that went 60 minutes SOLELY to go 60 minutes, this is it.

If your new to the ROH product the Bitter End really isn't the best representation of what ROH is.

My first ROH DVD was "The Chicago Spectacular Night 1". The moral of this little story, don't order it.
Coming from a newer fan's point of view, I would go with Supercard of Honor II.

If your new to the ROH product the Bitter End really isn't the best representation of what ROH is. But its got Corino in the main event, which means its one of the best ROH shows ever.

I'll run down the card for Better Than Our Best for ya.
1. Jack Evans vs. Ace Steel vs. Matt Sydal vs. Jake Crist vs. Dave Christ vs. Jimmy Jacobs (Six Man Mayhem)-great opening match, some good spots and great wrestling
2. Ricky Reyes vs. Delirious-another decent natch between two good wrestlers.
3. Jimmy Rave, Alex Shelley, & Masato Yoshino vs. Dragon Kid, Genki Horiguchi, & Ryo Saito- great Dragon Gate rules tag match, continuous action throughout and just an all around great match.
4. AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Jimmy Yang (Four Corner Survival)-good match again, four great talents going at it for a decent match
5. Austin Aries & Roderick Strong vs. CIMA & Naruki Doi (ROH Tag Team Title Match)- great tag team title match, both teams put in their all and it really paid off
6. Bryan Danielson vs. Lance Storm (ROH World Title Match)-very technical style match between two great workers.
7. Homicide vs. Colt Cabana (Chicago Street Fight) -one of the greatest street fights I have seen. Great action throughout and if you enjoy bloody, hardcore wrestling, this is a great match for you.
Dammit, now I wanna watch it.
