I don't really understand how you can be fired if you're not contracted.

Do you even know the story? According the SAT their car broken down and they couldn't get to Rahway. When Frank fired them he has assumed they just didn't show up. After Frank found out what happened he said he will give them the benefit of a doubt however at that time he had no plans to use them. So if he had no plans to use them, that's still essentially being fired. If I ran a Foot Locker store, and I had employee X and employee Y. If I told X & Y to show up for work at 10 AM, and they did not show up without calling, I'd fire them. If I booked X to work at 11AM and told Y I had no plans to use him because he wasn't needed that'd be firing him. Wow....... JSWO, and there is absolutely no argument, but recently I made the EXACT same point as you about Julius Smokes, and you referred to it as not a firing. "I had no plans to use him because he wasn't needed." That's almost word for word.

The main results were that Alicia defeated Gail Kim, and that Archadia & Azrieal won the Ultimate Rumble. Then Low Ki beat them in a three-way by pinning Archadia. Really stiff match as expect. Overall the show was ok but it was better than it would appear on paper. I know I saw Asia there seeing as how Roger Clemens jersey + Gail Kim love affair = Asia.

Small update, I'm here with Undisputed kid and his brothers front row. Very fun show so far and me hugging gail after her match makes this the greatest show ever. Period. And her top almost falling off aswell <333 Results? Monsta Mack & Havok defeated Wes Draven & Pinkie Sanchez. JAPW looks like they are going with a new hit squad with Mack & Havok. The SAT defeated Style & Finesse. EC Negro & Bandido defeated Deranged & (I didn't catch his name). Grim Reefer defeated Danny Demanto. Alicia defeated Gail Kim. The Ultimate Rumble came down to Archadia, Azrieal, Monsta Mack, & Havok with Azrieal and Archadia working together to eliminate Mack & Havok. Archadia & Azrieal both went over the top which lead to to... Low Ki defeating Azrieal & Archadia in a very stiff match. By the end of the night Azrieal's chest was beat red. Frank also announced that a lot of new talent would be given a shot tonight since it's a special fundraiser show and then announced that Samoa Joe will return in September and already booked for the Anniversary show is LAX who sent a challenge out to anyone in the world, Low Ki will defend his title, both AJ Styles & Rhino return and the show will also feature a convention during the day. Frank mentioned some names will even surprise you as to who's booked and then said that so far the first name ends with "Funk". Overall a fun show but not one you would enjoy. And for the record Gail Kim is so much hotter in person. Wow.

Should have came over and said hi and I ejoyed the show a lot, a lot of fun. Not every show has to be serious, its good to go to a show and not expect a MOTY but just to have a great time and relax.

Hoss Funk is coming to JAPW???

Hoss Funk is coming to JAPW??? It's probably going to be Angry Alan Funk. It's clear to me at least that no matter who is booked attendance won't change which is why they're going with someone like Terry Funk who won't be wrestling. Considering what he charges for an appearance, I'm shocked Frank is spending it. Hopefully the TNA names make a difference, but it's clear so far they aren't. Tonight is an exception because of the charity show. But regular show attendance should be increasing with the use of TNA names. If it's not, they need to stop spending the money on it and find some other way to draw. As for a new DHS, that's the worst idea of all time. Nothing will ever duplicate Monsta Mack and Mafia. Lastly, anybody know how much money was donated? Hopefully it was a good amount.

Attendance has been just fine except for last month but I've already told you both CZW & ROH were running that night and Frank was having personal problems. Attendance will be just fine at the Anniversary show. Last year they had 900 the year before 800 and the year before that 750. If anything Attendance has went up. No one said it'll ever be the same as Maff & Mack but it will help the tag division which is in need of teams. It might not even be called the new Hit Squad but it looked like by the looks of it they were gonna be dominate like the old hit squad. Lastly I don't know the amount but all the workers wrestled for free and they were selling little things like shirts and fliers. Also the place was booked and drew a lot more than the show that featured Ki/Butcher. There had to be 500 or more there which is great since Carteret isn't as big as Rahway. Also you before everyone else should know that indy's don't draw well during the summer.

Attendance will be just fine at the Anniversary show. Last year they had 900 the year before 800 and the year before that 750. If anything Attendance has went up. It would be just fine if they didn't bring in TNA names and not have any increase in attendance. With what Joe costs to book, and even more for Styles & Rhino, they should be seeing an increase. Jim Cornette once said, "If you book a TV name you should see an increase of between 5 and 50 people per name, if that name is well known. The Summer months have an effect, on the draw, but not when you see a name advertised." I'd say Joe, Styles, & Rhino are well known to wrestling fans. No one said it'll ever be the same as Maff & Mack but it will help the tag division which is in need of teams. It might not even be called the new Hit Squad but it looked like by the looks of it they were gonna be dominate like the old hit squad. Havok is awful, and at this point so is Mack due to his weight gain. They're bigger so they should be booked as dominant going against the regularly smaller guys like Azrieal, Archadia, Lethal, etc. Hopefully they have a different name. Lastly I don't know the amount but all the workers wrestled for free and they were selling little things like shirts and fliers. Selling fliers? Hopefully they raised a lot of money, I respect promotions with charity shows. Also the place was booked and drew a lot more than the show that featured Ki/Butcher. There had to be 500 or more there which is great since Carteret isn't as big as Rahway. Also you before everyone else should know that indy's don't draw well during the summer. When you book TV names, you need an increase in attendance to cover the costs of booking said names. Especially with TNA where the talent gets their fee, plus the promotion gets some as well. Hopefully it increases, but so far it has not.

They do. The earlier shows of the year all had 900. April had about 500 with the only TNA name outside of guys who have been there for years like Low Ki & Homicide was Samoa Joe. May they had a new building, it didn't draw too well and I already mentioned June. September, October & December will draw just fine.
I haven't seen Havok in years so I don't know how he is now. Mack is decent. Of course he's not the same but he's good with a tag partner and he can go in singles with the right guy.
Posters, my bad I'm tired. They were selling posters and shirts.
When has attendance been so bad? The only show AJ Styles wrestled on this year was in June. Samoa Joe wrestled on the June and April shows. Rhino wrestled on one show this year, Wildcard III and wasn't advertised but they still drew 900. Find me any indy promotion thats name isn't ROH that draws as well as JAPW does. Even tonight with not much announced at all and the only big names being Low Ki & Gail Kim they drew well.

I honestly have a hard time believing that there were 500 people there. It was pretty full, but the place can't really hold that many people. I'd say more in the range of 300-350.
It was overall a fun show. The match I was most into was Alicia-Gail. I figured Azrieal or Archadia would win the Ultimate Rumble and they both won so there was no surprise there. And it was obvious Low Ki would win the main event. But with Alicia-Gail I figured it could go either way.
I'd like to see Gail but it looked like a one-time thing. I'm a little bummed out that I'll probably miss out on the anniversary show because I'll be in college.

May they had a new building, it didn't draw too well and I already mentioned June. September, October & December will draw just fine. You reporting 900 is quite interesting because Meltzer's write ups talk about 500 max at most shows. I've even seen write ups from people at the JAPW board with a far more realistic number. I haven't seen Havok in years so I don't know how he is now. Mack is decent. Of course he's not the same but he's good with a tag partner and he can go in singles with the right guy. He's awful, wrestling one or two matches a month does nothing to help you get better. No Mack is not decent. He's slow, and overweight. He's a wonderful guy, when he was at Stout(NYC) back in September with us after the show I introduced myself and he was very cordial. He even remembered me by name in December at Final Battle. But with his injuries and weight gain, as much as I hate to say it he's not very good. Posters, my bad I'm tired. They were selling posters and shirts. All the same, still good to hear. When has attendance been so bad? The only show AJ Styles wrestled on this year was in June. Samoa Joe wrestled on the June and April shows. If Meltzer is saying half that, and so is Mike Johnson, I'm sticking with their take.

Exactly. most shows. The last few shows have been 500 and less but the Anniversary Show, Seasons Beatings & Wildcard all drew 900.
I've seen Mack have good matches with the right opponent. He might be slow but that don't make him a bad worker.
Do you have links to these? I'd like to see what shows you are reading.
JSWO you should just give up on JAPW altogether. I don't mean stop purchasing the DVD's I mean giving up even mentioning and arguing about them. JAPW obviously isn't a promotion that appeals to you anymore and thats what I like about JAPW. It's not just a smart mark promotion like ROH, IWA-MS, & Chikara. It has all types of fans and I've met a ton of cool people whether it be wrestlers, the fans, or the staff. They are much more laid back then ROH and don't always take themselfs as serious as ROH and thats what I like. You don't like JAPW, I do, why don't you just leave it at that?

Exactly. most shows. The last few shows have been 500 and less but the Anniversary Show, Seasons Beatings & Wildcard all drew 900. We'll see what the vast majority of reports on attendance say. Adding them up and taking an average seems fair. Hopefully it's above 1000! I've seen Mack have good matches with the right opponent. He might be slow but that don't make him a bad worker. Please give me some examples, I used to be a huge DHS fan so I'd love to check them out. Do you have links to these? I'd like to see what shows you are reading. Check out the archive at wrestlingobserver.com go back to the Monday or Tuesday after each of the past JAPW shows for the report on results and attendance. I don't have the time to do it now, but might later after the Indians game. JSWO you should just give up on JAPW altogether. I don't mean stop purchasing the DVD's I mean giving up even mentioning and arguing about them. JAPW obviously isn't a promotion that appeals to you anymore and thats what I like about JAPW. That's not fair to say at all. Whether you believe it or not, I root for all promotions to succeed. I discuss things I support. With guys like Joe & AJ booked, as well as LAX that appeals to me. By your theory, I guess I should stop discussing republicans, the war in Iraq, Hillary Clinton, WWE, TNA, and Barry Bonds, all because I don't like them but have interest in them as well.

His matches with Trent Acid last year were really good. His two matches with Rhino were a lot of fun and his match with Butcher for Gung Ho wrestling was really good. I don't know about the Acid & Rhino matches but I think you would enjoy the match with him and Butcher. It's actually on Mack's myspace if you would like to check it out. The promotion isn't around anymore so it's not like you would be doing anything wrong.
I think you should pick up Back To Business & Wildcard III. You might not like the undercard but Back To Business featured a great JAPW tag title match with LAX vs Lethal & Azrieal one ROH fans for sure would enjoy. Plus it features Low Ki vs AJ Styles for the title and a nice four way between Joe, Kingston, B-Boy, & Diablo who held his own in that match. Wildcard III features SST vs Lethal & Azrieal which is another match ROH fans would love as well as a gaunlet that features some unique matches like Hero/Richards, Ki/Richards, Ki/Rhino, Hero/Ruckus, Tornado/Ruckus & Tornado/Delirious. If you haven't seen any of Lethal & Azrieal's tag stuff you really need to check it out. I think you would really enjoy it.
