This game is really fun to play. They really changed a lot of things up. I haven't gotten to play the superstar mode yet (I'm waiting to finish with NCAA 08 and bring him up). But I feel like there have been a few to many interceptions and fumbles in the games I have played. Anyone else agree? I don't have a problem with interceptions, but the fumbling is just down right brutal, my superstar has a 90 for carrying but fumbles atleast once a game, I suppose I should just get better at protecting the ball

Isn't that odd? Madden came out yesterday and APF came out a month before, yet there are more posts on her. HEHEHEHE Isn't it odd, Madden is still ing terrible, and 2k Sports, if it had the rights that EA had, would put out a game one billion times better. Let's see... I'll run down everything that once again sucks about this game, because I hate that every year I can't find a football sim to play because EA half-asses their game over and over. -- Interception glitch is back... again. -- Punt glitch, where in certain situations the cpu tries to PUNT IT THROUGH THE UPRIGHTS. AND NOTE TO THE COMPUTER, A PUNT THROUGH THE UPRIGHTS ISN'T 3 POINTS. madden's a fat turducken eating ******. -- MAJOR editting problems: a) 26-year-old glitch, where you edit rookies from your NCAA draft class, it automatically sets their age to 26. b) Editting a player, and his contract will revert to 3 years c) Editting a player, and his arms are suddenly gigantic and disproportionate b) No editting positions in the player edittor. What's this bull ****? -- FRANCHISE STATISTICS ARE STILL HORRIBLE! How many years can they go without fixing this?! I'm sorry, but I think sim football. Madden players always say their game is the most sim out there, but you've got 8+ RBs running for 2200 yards in a single season with 0 receptions at season's end. To get realistic stats no one's figured out how yet, but the only way would be to control every team and tweak Sub in/sub out and RB1/RB2 settings which shouldn't be neccesary. It's probably impossible to fix the QB TD to INT ratio, which ties in with the INT glitch. Upwards 7-8 QBs passed for 4300 yards... WRs were hauling in 2000 yards, etc. This is the most annoying feature in Madden games ever, and they've had years to fix it. -- No accelerated clock in 360... how they always manage to leave obvious things like this out, too, baffles me. -- So many random glitches I'd be here all day naming them. And the game will never get a patch. All in all, this game can suck my dick. I don't care if gameplays slightly better than last years. NFL Fever 2002 had better gameplay than last year's for christ's sake. Point is, EA is never going to get this game right, because they can't fix the little things that drive real fans of football away from playing. Don't get me wrong, if you're either a simpleton and think Madden RULZ because of it's omfg awsum graphics, and NEW HIT STICK 2.0 feature, then keep playing Madden. If you don't give a **** about realism in a football game, again, Madden's fine. But for however many years they've put out sub-par football games that feel 55% complete, I feel ripped off each time I'm suckered into thinking it might be improved. Oh well, maybe next year they'll fix the same things they neglect year after year. Or they'll just add another angle on the hitstick. Can't wait for NFL 2k11

True stills Nick.
I can't say I'm not enjoying madden, because i am, but i'm enjoying it while still having major complaints about the game. And I'm mainly enjoying it because it's an NFL game with updated rosters, so it gets me hype for the upcoming season. if 2K had an NFL license, I know i'd be much more satisfied and have very few complaints. I have barely any compaints about All-Pro, and it's a simple, bare bones game, with low quality graphics.
I'd be playing 2K8, but like I said, the NFL aspect of Madden just draws me into the game.

Definitely, I underatand why some people enjoy it. And that's why I bought it. To play (or try to) a franchise mode with real NFL players. I was just hoping they could have just improved on some of the same old crap that plagues these games every year. Alas... hit stick 2.0, wahoo!!!

To be totally honest, nick, I don't think anyone's saying "Madden RULZ" because "of it's omfg awsum graphics, and NEW HIT STICK 2.0 feature." I think they're saying "Madden RULZ" because EA just happened to make a game better than 2K's attempt to, coincidentally, do what many 2K supporters have been saying for years that EA has doing with Madden, take a years old game, put a new coat of paint on it, and call it done.
I've played both, and from what I've played of both, EA made a superior game to All-Pro. I haven't seen any of the glitches you've talked about. Hell, I personally thought the game was glitch-free until I saw the youtube videos and heard people's accounts of it. And, if enjoying a game that doesn't have 3-year-old commentary, WRs that stop at the end of their routes, and a game that doesn't play exactly like a 20 dollar game from 3 years ago makes me a simpleton, then I guess you can call me captain intellectually- disabled person or something.

Yes, because upgraded commentary is VITAL. Thank god Madden FINALLY added this. It only took them ing years. If I had to hear John and Pat or whoever was in those games repeat the same **** over and over again one more year, I think I would've killed myself. It's just a radio announcer anyway, it's not even that upgraded (if it is, I didn't notice it). I didn't see any upgrades over the commentary. But you're king video game, never wrong, always right, so I trust you spotted something. I didn't notice WRs stopping at the ends of their routes, but for all I know, it happens. I'm not going to deny it and be a complete All Pro fanboy. I greatly prefer their engine and (at the time) ability to create an accurate account of sim football, which brings me to my next point. When you don't have the NFL liscense, it's pretty hard to make a superior game. I still feel 2k's attempt at recreating sim football was 10x better than EA's, with what they had. Like I said in my initial post, if you're looking for a game to play online or with friends, with the inability to edit rosters with major problems, get accurate stats in franchise mode, import draft classes without major problems... basically play franchise mode without a ton of annoying flaws, then Madden's fine. But I buy football games for franchise mode, and year after year, they never fix it. Which is why, for online play, and with friends, I'm just sticking with 2k's engine and All Pro which I prefer anyway. I wasn't even talking about you initially, I was making refference to idiots like MavArod who try to start popularity wars and buy EA's product and like it no matter what year after year, but if you wanna be sarcastic about it, your call.

I'm sorry, but year after year I buy this turd and hope I can make use of it, and after a week I give it to my brother as a hand me down gift...
I'm not even saying you can't enjoy the game, I'm just voices my frusterations. Which seem to multiply by the year.
And it's not like I'm the only one who dislikes this game.

Atleast we agree on this at this point in time... lol In all seriousness though, it's just frusteration that year, after year, after year they can't fix the SIMPLE THINGS. They add on new features, some which seem cool, some which are just stupid, but don't fix things! I don't know how with all of the complaints fans have about these very same things I list, they can't fix it. The operationsports forums, one of if not the biggest sports gaming forum, is filled with people with a distaste for a game. If they'd view one post on that board they could improve their game tenfold, but they're too busy adding in Kelley Washington's touchdown dance.

I hate EA for buying the rights to this which in turn killed MVP a game which i really enjoyed.
I love mlb2k7 but MVP will always be my favorite and most enjoyable baseball game ive played since Roger Clemens MVP Baseball in 1992.

Actually Asia, Major League Baseball Featuring Ken Griffey Jr. for N64 pwns all Anyway, I know what you mean, the 2K/MVP deal blows. 2K5 was such an amazing game, then EA gets the right to that so we have to deal with a mediocore game. Then 2K gets the right to MLB, so MVP which was amazing is gone, and now we get in my opinion a crappy game.

My bringing up the commentary, was more to the point that right now, if you hate Madden, then your only option in terms of new football games is All-Pro, and there are more glaring issues, to me at least, in that game than in Madden, such as the WR Route stops and the commentary. I never meant to imply that Madden 08's commentary was so superior because of something they did this year, but that All-Pro's was inferior because in the three years that it's been since 2K's last game, they didn't even change the commentary more than adding in audio cues for the legends. Maybe I'm not the best person to be judging football games, since it seems that the NFL license has this huge effect on how good a game can be, and I don't see why. I think what the problem may be is that you're looking for a football sim and I'm looking for a football game. Because, the controls of All-Pro, while infinitely more realistic (particularly the pounding a to continue sprinting) doesn't necessarily make the game more fun. And, don't act like your point is what you're now trying to pass it off as. I know you're targeting the uber-tard that lauds Madden like it's the second coming of christ, but your point was that if you're an idiot, you like Madden. I think it's fair to say that All-Pro is the better sim and that Madden is the better game. And in regards to Arod's comment that started this all, the reason why Madden's gotten so many more posts is that Madden is a brand name, and people who don't pay attention to football will at least rent it, whereas All-Pro is geared more to the football aficionado who wants to play the most realistic sim he can.

I actually enjoy playing the "current gen" Madden games more than I enjoy the "next gen" games.
... And that's pathetic.
They need to stop worrying about graphics and start working on the ridiculous running animations, the assinine glitches, and the overall GAMEPLAY.

See, what I find funny about the glitches, and yes I've seen the youtube video with Bret Farve running off-field and the guy running after hitting the endzone and going through the crowd, is that I've never actually encountered any of them personally. Eh. Another thing I find interesting, is that so many people complain about how EA never changes anything and yet they're the ones buying it every year. If nothing else, I think EA would hear the sound of money loud and clear.

I buy the game in hopes of it changing... And it just hasn't.
Like I said, what's weird is that I like the game on PS2 more than I like it on 360 or PS3.

This won't be terribly coherent...but I'll say this.
Overall, I like this years Madden. It's far from great, and there is ton of room for improvement as always. Mostly, I enjoy it because I want to play a current NFL game with current players.
The presentation is much better.
They need to work on the damn menus because I get tired of laggy menus everytime I try to do something.
The only major glitch I have noticed so far, is when I had a wide open 20 yard run to the end zone, a defender slid across the screen to miraculously tackle me. That single moment was the worst glitch I have seen in Madden ever.
Yes, I do with the stats were more realistic, for sure. It would be nice for the computer to actually throw the ball to the halfbacks and full backs, and for the yardage totals to not be totally ridiculous.
I thought All Pro football was neat, but unfortunately not having a NFL license kills the replay value for me.
Madden could, and SHOULD be a much better games. But, I won't go so far to call it a turd, because I don't think that is accurate.
