I think we should all thank 2K for making EA step up and make a damn good football game and making their own game meh-tastic.

Noobish question. How do you get the roster updates for ps3? It wont have it this early, but online you can get a downloadable verison of updated rosters. When playing online, they will always be updated...so when the first one comes out, no one can be Vick with the Falcons. Hope this helps. Can anyone elaborate? My only experience with downloading official rosters has been through MLB 07, and they prompt you to save them right when you sign into their online section. I just have no idea how EA does it. Not that it'll be incredibly difficult, but shedding more light on it for those of us that need it would be awesome.

I'm not sure, but given how that's the way it works on the 360 version, I'd imagine it'd work the same way for PS3.

You don't need to worry about that til week 1.

It looks as if the lateral button failed to make it into the game once again.

I heard the frame rate on PS3 was pretty bad this year. Any validation to that?

I heard the frame rate on PS3 was pretty bad this year. Any validation to that? From what I understand, it's the same as last year... XBox 360 is using an upgraded speed.

I really hadn't planned to get this game, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. I really can't get it now, as my 360's still ed. However, for those who do have it, what are the major improvements or differences from 07 to 08?

I heard the frame rate on PS3 was pretty bad this year. Any validation to that? Will you notice it? Yes. Is it a big factor in the fun factor of the game? I don't think so, but I won't be playing the 360 version at all. I assume you won't be THAT bothered by it unless you play both. But yes, it is noticeable.

I'll let you know when the update comes. You don't need to worry about that til week 1. Eh, it's not a huge deal to me yet...I just didn't know if EA prompted you to save them for offline use (because I'm not a huge online guy) or if I had to go through the menu to find them in some other area.

However, for those who do have it, what are the major improvements or differences from 07 to 08? Yes. The framerate's better. The running is better, due to improved blocking AI. The hitstick is improved to allow you tackle low. There are now player-weapons which are more effective than their non-weapon counterparts. Like there's a spectacular catch weapon, where they can do the jumping catches, one-handed catches, etc. The superstar mode is improved, especially the camera. It's a quite large jump over Madden 07 and an extreme difference in quality over All Pro.

Damn, looks like I'll be losing another $60 whenever I get my 360 fixed.

Well, after playing one game, I am much happier than last year. But for some reason, I am having difficulties adjusting to some of the controls. Am I able to see my play once I line up at the line of scrimmage? Surely I can.

Yeah, I think you have to hold the right trigger, then move your left analog stick in any direction.
Anyways, I think I have to take my game back, it keeps freezing on the 3rd pre-season game. I'm going to try and simulate it, then play on and see what happens first though.

Dude, it's Madden. You'll be able to find it at ing Walgreens*. *You won't actually be able to find it at Walgreens but it's that common that it wouldn't be that big of a stretch. Oh. lol, 'cause if I do get it, it'll be the first time EVER buying Madden like right when it comes out. The first Madden I had was the old like Sega ones, then I didn't get one until 06, cheap, because 07 was already out. Then I finally got 07 around November of last year. Just came back from going to two Gamestop, neither one of them had any. THANKS A LOT GUYS

Gamestop is the worst place to try. Try some Wal-Marts, K-Marts, Toys R Us, Best Buy, Circuit City, or places like that.
