Hi,
I was hoping someone could help me out here, I'm gonna be in New York at the end of November & just wondered if anyone knew of any events that were going on in the NY area?

ROH is running in NYC in the Manhattan Center but that's at the beginning of November. Other than that NY doesn't really have many indy's anymore. There use to be UXW aka USA-Pro but they don't run there anymore because Frank Goodman lost his license to run shows in NY. There's NYWC, it's mostly young local guys that are still learning. It's not really that good but if you really wanna check out indy wrestling you could go to one of their shows. I'm sure while your not gonna see ***** matches it's still pretty fun. I think VPW runs shows in Long Island NY which also uses a lot of locals but they have some good talent there. It might not be the talent smart marks enjoy but they have good talent nonetheless. I think Grim Reefer, Alicia, The SAT & Xavier among others wrestle there.

new york indies have died down alot. the only ones running now are nywc, vpw and roh that come every what 5 months. i think there is another really small indy fed run in dix hills PWR? I've never been to it and i haven't really herd anything about it only that my friend went to one and he said he loved it(it was his first indy experience)
i go to every nywc show run in deer park and its not a let down. the people there are really fun to be around and the shows are pretty good.

VPW and NYWC are the only ones around here really (excluding ROH). I've been to shows for both companies, and found them both to be a bore, with VPW's shows being just a little better due to their cheap gimmick table.

Whereabouts in NY are you going?
There is an awesome fed called 2CW (Squared Circle Wrestling) that has shows every month in either Syracuse, Rochester, Utica, or Binghamton. They bring in a ton of stars and their local talent is way better than a lot of feds. ( 2cw.com ) It's the best fed going in NY today in my opinion.
