Indy Star? To the world. Current, not past.
In my opinon, I have no idea. I want to see who you guys say.
So, go for it.

Chuck Taylor has a good cult following, Low Ki maybe, since he works IWA MS, PWG and then on top of that TNA. If I think of more I'll post them.

I think Chuck Taylor is FAR from the most known indy star. It would probably have to be Low Ki, or Bryan Danielson.

Low Ki with Danielson following closely.

Chuck Taylor, still haven't seen one match of his but he is a god. How is he god if you've yet to see a match? Low Ki is no longer an indy star folks, he works for TNA. The answer is Bryan Danielson.

AJ Styles is one of the firsts I knew of if not the first, I wouldn't consider him in the "past" but I don't know.

on a worldwide basis? AJ has a TNA contract so that wouldnt really count. Daniels and Low Ki do as well. Probably any past WWE/WCW/TNA star who dosnt have a contract. If Raven didnt have a TNA contract, I would probably say him. Ravens the guy who almost everyone loved and knew.
If we're talking someone who's never been in the WWE, WCW, TNA, or ECW. Then perhaps Danielson or Hero.

Chuck Taylor?! Thats absurd.
Low Ki, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles and Chris Hero are way more known than Taylor. Taylor is basically a midwest talent only. He has been making his way to the east coast as of late....but continues to trail the above names. The above have all made numerous trips through Europe and Asia. Taylor barely leaves Indiana.

I agree. And I laughed my ass off to the person who said Chucks a god without seeing a single match of his.

Sabu's indy at the moment, I'll go with him. Proper indy I'd go with Danielson, mentions going to Joe and London back from their indy days and Hero currently

Joe or Punk from their indy days maybe Danielson but for me Id say Steve Corino

If Sabu is indeed a free agent, then him and Steve Corino would probably have the most recognition on a worldwide basis

Since TNA talent does still work some indy shows I will say Samoa Joe.

Christopher Daniels, without a shadow of a doubt. He's busted his ass for years on the indy scene, done it all.
