From WON & PWG Message Board:
QUOTE From WON:
Rob Van Dam, who hasn't wanted to do anything involving wrestling since leaving WWE, sent an e-mail to PWG's Joey Ryan last week saying he'd be interesting in working there since it wouldn't involve going on the road.
IDK I found this on Caw. Ws Forums if it's true I think RVD would be good in PWG for a few matches.

I don't trust this, only speaking on the topic.
RVD in PWG is beyond a wise-choice. He's in Cali' and he's in tip-top shape I'd imagine, plus PWG houses some of the best wrestling on the Indy. I'd be all for checking out whatever PWG can swing his way.

This would be beyond awesome, and a great way for RVD to avoid ring rust as well until he figures out his next move.. but then again it depends which RVD shows up.. the old ECW RVD who was an innovator, or the WWE RVD who recycles the same 4 moves every match and throws in some kicks and punches some matches i'd love to see in no particular order RVD vs Kevin Steen RVD vs El Generico RVD/Sabu (hey i can dream) vs Steenerico RVD vs Bryan Danielson - PWG Title RVD vs Super Dragon RVD vs Roderick Strong RVD vs Davey Richards RVD vs Double C RVd vs Chris Hero RVD/Sabu vs Kings of Wrestling just to name a few

I'm not really gonna buy that. If RVD is going to work indys, I think he is gonna want to work ROH. It just seems like the natural progression.

I doubt this is true. RVD told JAPW only like two weeks ago that he wasn't planning on doing any Indy's at the time and that he won't be thinking about it until about December.

But you guys are forgetting that it's a short drive there for him.
If he can leave for a few hours, wrestle a 15 minute match, make a few thousand dollars then go back to his family the same night, it seems like an option he should consider.
When I flew from NJ to California this summer, it was torture. I have no idea how wrestlers do all that traveling to be honest.

Location, location, location. PWG is already the ROH of the west coast, so just saying "He should work for ROH" is meaningless when you don't consider the circumstances.
RVD could spend one day, tops, wrestling for PWG. He'd get some decent cash, we'd get some great PWG action, and he'd be back relaxing with his family hours after the event. Although this is all just rumor, what makes it so hard to believe?
Think of it this way: either RVD travels a loooooooooooooong way away from his home to compete in a great fed that has PPV...or he stays in his general area and competes in a great fed that doesn't have PPV.
PWG seems like it would be the natural choice, not ROH.

PWG might make sense for travelling and time consumption, but I doubt that Gabe is just sitting back going......hey RVD is available to work.........lets let PWG book him instead of us.....cuz that wont make any money. Gabe is a smart business man and I am sure that if RVD is available to be booked, he will find a way to sell RVD to come out to ROH or maybe be brings ROH to him.

Showstopper your forgetting though that, at least how RVD has played it, right now money is not a major concern. Simply put, if you could work 2 great feds, but had to choose which one you'd give a shot to first. Would you pick the one in Georgia or New Jersey? Consider it like a rat race vs a treadmill

Consider it like a rat race vs a treadmill I wasnt really talking about money. I meant selling RVD on wrestling. And what kind of matches and how Gabe will showcase his talents. The money is a given. Both PWG and ROH would pay top dollar for his services. But I think ROH would showcase his talents and has a better roster and a bigger fan base to work from.

They both share the majority of their top names, the only exceptions being RoH has import-crew, Nigel, Briscoes (they never did make it to PWG after those 2 cancelled events did they?) and PWG has Super Dragon (minus those brief RoH apperances in CZW feud), and the west-co crew like disco, human tornado, joey ryan, lost, bosch etc RoH has the bigger fan base, but honestly it doesnt seem RVD is too interested in that right now, he seems more concerned about spending time with his family and is financial secure at this point in time. IMO if we see RVD in RoH it will be a 1 shot deal @ Final Battle, or an appearance at RoH's West Coast debut

And I know that ROH runs more shows, but they still get an ROH stigma about them. What about those under ROH contracts? Do they still appear for PWG? And I agree that if RVD works ROH....it will be for 2-3 shows max. Maybe NY and Philly and he is done.

PWG is really the only option for Rob right now. He's stated that he's put a travel ban on himself, because after quite a few years of owning a home in California, he is just now starting to understand what it's like to actually live there. He is enjoying his time at home and doesn't want to leave.
Good for Rob. He's earned his time as a normal human being, not having to live out of a suitcase. This time next year may be a different story, but I wouldn't hold your breath on Rob leaving California anytime soon, judging from all he's said in radio appearances and his own blog postings.

A former WWE Champion in PWG? Sorry, but I really doubt that this rumor is true.

A former WWE Champion in PWG? Sorry, but I really doubt that this rumor is true. So you don't buy, let's say for the sake of argument, CM Punk having appeared in PWG? Even though he's currently holding the 3rd complimentary World title, ECW's Heavyweight title...
