So people are turning on Nigel cause hes injured? No, they're turning on Nigel because the shock factor of him as champion is wearing off, and they want a better champion. And for the record, I like Nigel.

Not to bump my own thread, it's already up there, but...
...if they want a "better champion" I still don't understand why Naomichi Marufuji has come to least bit of being closest to holding ROH gold. He's by far and wide the best NOAH based talent to make their US name in ROH with more than 2 matches.

Nigle was given the belt in the same way that Morishima got it, with no build up. Nigel's win came from nowhere. They built Nigel up to win the title and then completely forgot about him. If he would have won the title earlier than he did I don't think people would oppose it so much. People have always said that the problem with Nigel is that he does the same exact thing in every match. All of his matches seem to contain an insane use of lariats. I still feel that the same thing can be said for any wrestler. To single Nigel out for doing what every other wrestler ever has done is unfair.

I don't think Nigel deserves the hate he's been getting. It's not like the guy wanted to get injured and not defend the title for a few months... I think the show looks pretty good. I'll be buying it, no doubt. However, I think Gabe is making a HUGE mistake by bringing in Puder. The guy ing sucks.....and is more of an MMA guy anyway. Puder isn't getting heel heat, he's getting"please go away and ing die" heat...

For those that don't have huge problems with PWInsider, there's some fabulous results that I can't seem to cut and paste. Go figure. But yeah, I get that ROH fans don't want Puder... but he's also gonna be a heat magnet and not just to the mainstream fans. The fans that know what to go after with will essentially be putting him over in the process. Word has it that Bushwacker Luke got a mega-face reaction and 1,200 fans... give or take... doing the bushwacker strut (or whatever it's called) in unison. But yeah, PWI has great results. The Scramble is being called the best in company history, so take that with a grain of salt and perked interest. Nigel vs Aries sounds sick from the detailed results. With Nigel getting pretty ed up, it sounds like if ROH books it as the PPV main event (which they probably won't), it could be the best we've had yet. Better than Mori/Dragon vs KENTA/Nigel. Better than Dragon-Nigel. Better Than Ladder War. Way to early to say though if it's better than Mori-Nigel, but it very well could be.

It's because Nao both doesn't want the title, and because Misawa won't approve the World Title being put on him. Misawa wanted the belt on Morishima for a reason.

All of his matches seem to contain an insane use of lariats. I still feel that the same thing can be said for any wrestler. To single Nigel out for doing what every other wrestler ever has done is unfair. I think its almost a fact that the clothesline or lariat is the most over utilized move in professional wrestling. So I definately agree. To say that one guy uses it too much, is unfair and stupid.

For instance, forearms, kicks to the gut, dropkicks and or chops are all to common but effective formulas to widen a gap and not make a match appear like a (see) spot (run) fest. Now I'd say the running big boot is pretty much overkill, but I love a good yakuza kick. I don't know what it is about it, I groan when Snitsky or Test hits a big boot... but MVP (just using mainstream for example) does it decent enough to not look played out. By the way, The lariat may be used by every one, but how many guys performing really know the difference from a clothesline and a lariat. I always thought a good lariat was the equivalent of a fake-out clothesline from the opposite arm you'd normally strike with.

I see your point about strikes, but I kinda consider a clothesline or lariat more of a move than a basic strike. Although most consider it a strike im assuming. And I mean over utilized in the sense, that its the most common go to move, when you cant think of anything else. Guys could easily throw something similar but different, such as a back elbow, but it seems that the forever go to " i cant think of anything move" will be a clothesline/lariat. On the topic of the PPV. The tag scramble interests me quite a bit. Puder is awful. Why the "best" company would bring in a guy who is gonna get XPac heat is beyond me.

Davey gets a few Benoit chants from time to time.

Why?

Because his style of wrestling has been similar to Benoit, circa WCW 1996.

He's got an aggressive bit to, but once again, it's just intensity. Nothing patented to any body, really. I was originally though going on, not just about Benoit, but Davey getting the DDDDAAAVVVVEEEYYY, which actually comes off lame or face-like. Never resembling an antagonist chant. Or how about the brain-buster chant, remember that one? Really, I feel bad for Davey, he gets the lamest reactions and he's certainly worthy of more intelligible responses.
