I just checked the EAs Forums, and apparently there is an roster update for November. But I also saw there was some problem with the patch, apparently. who the hell knows.

So I tried NHL 08 again, despite the fact that it's scratched. I played a slew of Exhibition games with no freezing, so I took a chance on starting a Minnesota franchise.
I'm at the beginning of January, and no freezing. So I'll keep going with it.
Goalies are still awful though. Regardless, we're having a tremendous season. Gaborik has stayed healthy (despite two scares) and is leading the league with 36 goals in 44 games with 53 points. Harding and Backstrom are splitting time, basically. Backstrom doesn't seem to like it, though. Got one of those, "trade me", e-mails. Sure enough I play him more and he posts two shutouts in a row.
As much as I rag on the EA goalies, right now they're both doing extremely well. Four shutouts in nine games. Minnesota hockey, right there. They each have two apiece and a total of 9 between them for the season.
But of course the games they lose are awful. Like.. 3 goals on 15 shots or less. Bleh. Whatever. We're winning.

You remind me of my friend, if he loses... he'll bitch about it, but if he wins... he still would bitch about it. But that's awesome that your game isn't freezing though, perhaps it just needed a rest from your hatin' on NHL08 Goalies.

But that's awesome that your game isn't freezing though, perhaps it just needed a rest from your hatin' on NHL08 Goalies. I don't mind losing. I enjoy losing, as strange as it sounds. I like having realistic seasons. I don't like tearing it up. I'd rather slump and be at the bottom of the league than tear it up with like.. less than 10 losses. It's the fact that my goalies never really perform all that well. They let in lots of goals on minimal shots. I have a theory, though. See, I play 5 minute periods. Maybe they made the game where, with 5-minute periods, they make it easier to score to compensate for such a short amount of time. If so, then that sucks. 5 is too short, but 10 is too long for me. Somewhere in between would be good. Even if I were to re-adjust to 10 minute periods, the shots would still be out of whack. If I can get 25-30 shots in three 5-minute periods and the CPU can barely manage 15, then I'll have upwards of 45-50 with 10 minutes. Either way, it'll be unbalanced. But whatever. I'll just shut up and play the damn game now

i'd say i liked losing, but i'd be totally lying.
too bad i'm just terrible at gaming. i get fun out of it, so i'm not going to nit-pick about little crap. the goalies suck ass, but i'm still having fun, which is why i buy video games.

Yea there is a roster update. You have to get in the game, go to Xbox Live. And then go to Rosters and then there is a roster update. Has mostly everything updated. nothing really fixed for gameplay, though.

Well, I just got the update and Im loving it.
To please you, Georgie, I will be starting a Maple Leafs Dynasty. :-D Don't worry, I won't make any crazy changes though. I'll keep it realistic though, with the McCabe's No Movement Clause...
Booyah.
Oh yeah, I got a one month xbox-live gold thingy, so if you like... i can whoop your ass again like the last time. LMAO.

Backstrom's on a hot streak. He was less than two minutes away from getting three shutouts in a row. Three. But nope. Bill Guerin decides he's gonna score on a weak-ass backhand from the circle, and picks the top right corner with it.
Gaborik's on fire. Benoit Pouliot had a four goal game against Dallas.

Dude, I was playing as the Blues tonight... I was winning 1-0, I have the level on Superstar or something like, I think it mighta been Pro. I'm playing in the first game against the Coyotes, I scored in the first period.. No goals until the third period, and of course, from a wild one-timer by Coyotes, they tied the game up with 7 minutes left in the third period. then out of nowhere, Shane Doan just ing owned Manny to take the lead.. I tried to come back but lost 3-1. It was an awesome game.
