sports.espn.go.com/espntv/espnGuideWed. night Feb 27/Thursday morning Feb. 28 at 1 AM and then every weeknight listed thereafter. Single one hour shows in the slot that the UWF shows are in. So did ESPN suddenly realize that they worked out infinite rebroadcasting rights for everything they ever licensed to air (as seemed to be the case w/ the UWF deal at least)? If WWE was involved with this, I would think that we'd have heard of this before someone randomly found it in the listings. Does this mean we could see WCCW, USWA, or GWF on ESPNC eventually? Or is it some TV that Dale Gagner put together to sell cheap to ESPN that would be sure to piss people off? AWA is a huge step up from UWF. Please bring me some World Class, USWA and Global! That would so totally rock!

Hopefully it is the real AWA. Now is it really better than UWF? I never watched AWA.

Hopefully it is the real AWA. Now is it really better than UWF? I never watched AWA. anyway shouldn't this be in the classic board? Its debateable where it can go. I guess it could. But I am allowing it here. AWA doesnt have squash matches and nothing but. Plus you will see guys like Hogan, The Rockers, The Gagnes, Rude, Perfect, etc. all get their starts. |

This is great... I'm tired of watching Bob Orton and "Mr One-derful" Paul Orndorff wrestle with morbidly obese hacks... though I do enjoy watching the early stages of Foley's career.

Mr. Wonderful coming out to "Can't Touch This" was the ONLY reason to watch that show.
Anyway, I can't wait for this. Should be pretty cool.

So get your facts straight! Second, its not on the classic board cuz I deem it relevant to being on the indy board. It does feature wrestlers working the indys AND AWA is currently an indy promotion. You're never going to see WCCW on ESPN. Never. I never thought we would see AWA on ESPN, cuz Vince does own the footage. So it might be possible cuz they were original airings of ESPN and there might be some sort of production clause or something along those lines. Dont know. You might be right. But I dont 100% believe it right now. I've seen so much World Class......I think I would rather see Global or USWA anyway. |

Yes, AWA is an indy promotion. There is a current AWA brand that is considered indy and there is AWA Pinnacle, where I got one of my first glimpses at both Davey Richards and Harry Smith. Yes, it probably does refer to Classic AWA.....but its not 100% confirmed at this point and so as such........it belongs here. wow cry some more about what board its in. Im stoked to find out what it is. Id love for some USWA though I think if I could.....I would take Global. What awesome memories, coming home from school each day and racing to the tv to watch WCCW, USWA and Global. What good times. |
