Nigel retained? Is there no ing god? There must be considering, we arent forced to suffer through another Danielson reign. I must say that these results sound awful. I hate the Steen push. Never been a big fan of his anyway. Matthews working an E style is interesting from an angle standpoint, but somehow I dont see it being an angle. I think its just him not wanting to work. Thats not good. Aries being recruited to AOTF is interesting. But the fact that Tammy got involved, seems like a very predictable story upahead. Sweeney/Dempsey/Danger sounded terrible. Am I assuming that Sweeney was basically setting up a simulated rape of some sort? If so.......who booked this show Vince Russo? I thought the Katie Vick thing was bad. I definitely do not like Nigel going heel, but I think its for the best. The fans have turned on him and for no good reason. Stupid ROHbots! And I guess its safe to assume that Nigel aint losing the belt to Hero. The best talent they have and they seem to waste him away. This whole Sweet and Sour Inc. angle has been great.....but this current angle looks bad.

What makes ROH think they can fill the Hammerstein Ballroom. Interesting to see that they turned Nigel already. I thought they would have played him more as being in between. Matthews working a WWE style makes complete sense. I'm all for Mr. Wrestling getting a good push considering that ROH missed the boat by not giving Steen/Generico the tag belts.

I guess if we're booking on pure talent alone.........Shane Storm deserves a shot at the ROH Title too?

Guys I can tell you right now that this show was far from terrible. Nigel/Dragon really was awesome. I love that Nigel's a heel again. Always thought he was better that way.
The FIP title match was brutal........BRUTAL. Necro was hit with one of the worst (In a good way) chair shots I have ever seen or heard.
Also......Showstopper, you're really overreacting in regards to the SnS angle. It was a comedy skit. Not some Russo/Katie Vick crap. Whoever was writing in with results probably should have gotten that across, though.

Storm is not on the same level as Steen. He just isn't. Butchering popular Japanese moves doesn't make you good. Just because you wrestle in Chikara doesn't mean you are the best wrestler in the world.

Show me the comedy in it so I can better understand it. There's not really much I can add to what was written by the original poster, though. After Sweeney's berating of Danger, he knocked her out, He then was egging on Bobby to get down and welll......have sex with her. He then knocked Dempsey down and he fell on to Danger. I really suck at explaining things. Just understand that it wasn't anything crazy or over the top. Just more of Sweeney humiliating poor Bobby Dempsey

I dont see how anyone would think Nigel was going to lose. Nigel HAD to beat Dragon. Plus it was time for the favor to be returned. The heel turn is a good thing, but I'll continue to cheer him.

That sounds like one of the worst pro wrestling related things I've ever heard. I like Dragon, but unless it's leaving something out, that's some of the pussiest face talk I've ever heard.

The show was decent. It had it's good and it had it's not so good. Nothing was awful, just not up to NYC stardards but I expected that so I can't say I'm dissapointed.
My thoughts on the matches are
Tornado/Delirious vs Black/Jacobs was ok but I would of liked to have seen ROH just go with what was advertised and give us Tornado/Delirous which I was looking forward to and then put AOTF in the tag title match.
Nigel/Danielson promo was really good.
Albright/Generico was a tad long and Generico botched the split legged moonsault. Overall decent match but I didn't like the finish, it just looked weak. I wish everyone in ROH wouldn't try to do this MMA stuff. Dragon's elbows are awesome, Aries knees are decent but Albright's knees to the head are just weak.
Larry Sweeney's talk show could be a lot better than it was. Plus I think they should have some kind of cool set up. I know ROH doesn't have WWE money but I felt they could of done something to make it different than a normal promo.
Steen/Mattews sucked. Steen is awesome but Matthews is just lazy. I don't even consider it working the WWE style, it was just a lazy style. He didn't do anything but headlocks.
Aries/Go was a a very good match but I sat in back of the first fans all night. The one guy clapped the whole match on purpose because someone asked him to stop when it had just started and he said "you want me to stop? I'll clap the whole match? Don't believe me, I'll do it".
Shimmer Title Match. Not really anything to say. What you would expect.
The tag title match wasn't really any good at all. Plenty average to be honest.
The FIP Title was a great brawl that had some of the stiffest chops I've ever seen. Awesome Match. I'm not a Stevens man but I respect the beating he and the others took in this match.
ROH World Title match was great. I'd still rank the Unified match ahead of it, but this was much better than that overrated Driven match of there's.
Overall a decent show. Probably one of the worst NYC shows though but still better than 90% of ROH's shows.

I think we all sort of expected it to come out this way. I mean, the show takes a huge hit with the Briscoes, Hero and Claudio all in Japan. Though, it was still better than I thought it would have been...

Sounds like a decent show, for the most part. I expected Nigel to retain, but I really didn't see him turning into a full-blown heel. Here's hoping that Claudio will be the one to take the belt off him.
