Yeah these topics are nothing new, but I just wanted to get the insider view. The guys who support the company, one way or another, and would have little choice when these guys have one less company to work in.
So, what 10 could you honestly see WWE signing?
From the non-competitive like Jim Cornette to Mike Tenay or Jeremy Borash.
Down to the"divas" like Jacqueline Moore & Christy Hemme or Ms Brooks and Leticia Cline.
And not to be forgotten, old signess like Kurt Angle, Christian, Rhino to new signees like Sting, Abyss or James Storm.
What 10 would you say would be the most wise choices, and the only WWE would sign? At least directly after TNA "folding". Mine would be these.
#1 & #2 LAX(Homicide & Hernandez):
2 great workers with established personalities and a key demographic market to.... MARKET. I'd say any one aware of Smackdown's Latino following already knows where these 2 should go.
Not to mention, I think they'd do the brand wonders as it's a good brand for wrestling, but currently is in a drout for good tag team wrestling. Imagine these two taking on MVP & Matt Hardy in a 20-minute match.
#3 & #4 Murder City Machine Guns(Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley):
Two more phenomenal pick-ups for for Smackdown. Two cruiserweights? Yes. But a great tag team? You better believe it.
Whether you compare them to the Rockers, Midnight Express or even London & Kendrick- These two can make you forget about their size while also getting over with out the flippy cruiserweight style.
Of course I'd have LAX vs MCMG to introduce both teams to a new audience, but ideally you got 4 stars that hopefully would exceed expectations.
#5 Abyss:
ECW! ECW! ECW! This would be both a great pick-up for WWE, but if wise, a huge draw for ECW.
Depending on a fan reaction, I'd honestly book him as a tweener. That seems fair and also gets us everything from matches with Burke & Nitro to Stevie & Thorn and tons of other fresh matches.
He'd easily do the ECW title worthy to, my only hope would be WWE sees the mystique in the mask. That it makes the character.
#6 Samoa Joe:
Part of me would love to see him in ECW. Whether it's revisiting matches with Punk or new ones with Burke(my dream match).
Joe can only do a company good, and one that wants to push fresh, young, full package talents, he can make lots of money in.
But where to put him.... I wanna say Raw, but Smackdown seems all to logical too. I'll leave this one up for grabs. Pray WWE would make a big deal out of this, and not just so Triple H would have a new priority to takedown.
#7 Christian Cage:
Oh the irony, why could I see them putting Captain Charisma back on Friday Nights?
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. They will put him on Raw, and we'll finally get that feud with Cena. Unfortunately Cage will be a go to champion, not a long term.
Still his work will finally be appreciated.
#8 AJ Styles:
Believe it or not, I could see AJ going to Raw.
On the mic he's not the most crisp of any but maybe WWE would review some tapes. Or someone will show them that AJ and Christian have good chemistry.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want Goofus.J. Styles but if he has a running buddy, his ring work will be all anyone should really notice and that my friends is something that'll bring him to the "A brand".
Matches against Umaga, Shawn Michaels, and Shelton Benjamin interest me, too.
#9 Sting:[/b]
Come on now, you know WWE, more importantly Vince- "Speed Dial Sting, Damnit!"
Rightfully so, Sting should be priority #1. While I am certain he should be on Raw, his run should end with an interpromotional feud with the Undertaker. Imagine that one.
But yeah maybe a match with Flair along the way, if that's unlikely now, I'd say Raw is a certain pick.
With guys like Cena, Trips, HBK, Umaga, Kennedy, and do I even have to point out Orton wanting to kill the Legend of Sting?
WWE will probably miss great matches like Sting vs MVP or Elijah Burke, Punk or Finlay. But Sting is a notch in their belt that they would be proud to acquire. Of course on a part-time basis.
#10 Kurt Angle:
I wanna say anyone but Angle, but WWE will no doubt want him back, so long as the direction is right and he doesn't dick them around with dreams of being an MMA Superstar.
He's got new matches awaiting him on each brand. Raw welcomes him with Mr Kennedy, Smackdown with MVP, ECW with Burke, Punk or Big Daddy V.
He's often unappreciated, overrated, but no doubt never duplicated. Still one of the best going strong. So why would WWE wanna bring back their own (marketing-stance) creation?
