Just as the title says, waht did you give up for lent? I personally gave up cursing. What did you give up? You shouldve gave up ignorance thinking Christianity and Catholicism are the same.  more than one denomination celebrate lent. |

yes but not the entire christian religion. no but it's not just catholics that practice lent, lutherans, anglicans and some others are all denominations that practice it. most of those have stayed very true to catholics but differ only in a few areas. so they are like "diet catholics". they are just watered down. |

Wow....hardly anybody understands lent anymore, not even the topic creator. I fully understand lent and I'm not even religious. No swearing isn't fasting. It's bull ****. God's going to be pissed.

you're supposed to give up devil's temptations eg. cakes, sweets. I used to do it a bit and give the food I had in my house that wasn't needed to less fortunate but it's not as easy to do now I've moved.
