Was it like a chocolate coat over fruit-flavoured inside? or like an M&M where its a coloured coat and made of chocolate inside?

As mrsdash noted several times, they're nothing like M&M's. They have the same consistency as regular Skittles - they just taste like bastardized Tootsie Rolls.

I tried these today.
"Bastardized Tootsie Rolls" sums it up perfectly IMO. I couldn't really detect a flavor difference as with regular Skittles, everything tasted the same to me. And to those wondering, yes, I did individually try each one instead of just cramming a bunch into my mouth.
It's not bad, but it's definitely just a gimmick. I'll stick to regular Skittles.
