I have both tbh and it depends. If your current computer is crap, or you don't like to sit in one place, get a Labtop. If your TV is crap, get a TV. But if your TV is pretty good and you don't plan on getting HD channels, don't get the TV.
I like my Labtop more then my HD TV.

What kind of laptop? If it's a Macbook or Macbook Pro, go for that. But if it's a dell or a PC in general, I'd go for the HD TV.

If you have HDTV so, get Laptop. If you got Lapton, then get HDTV. If none, but if you happy with your computer, then get HDTV, if not. So get Laptop. That is entirely up to you. Your decision, not us. So good luck with the decision

In fact, if you buy an HDTV player just for porn, then that is pretty sad. I have a crappy computer and a nice HDTV though, I figure that's the best way to go

Take this into consideration:
Laptop lets you do a whole lot. You can even watch HD programming if you get a USB HD tuner (they're not pricey either)
HDTV: How much HD programming do you actually have? If you only have a handful of channels then it's honestly not worth having an HDTV. I actually went to a satellite provider because they had 6x as many hi-def channels than Cable did. There's no point in a super-sweet tv if you've got nothing to watch on it

Plus he now has the option of Blu-Ray movies and better looking video games. He could also just buy and HD tuner for his current computer and hook that up to his TV. Personally, I'd go with the HDTV, unless you have a really shitty computer.

laptops dont hold the best amount of memory, so if you have a current PC thats fine go for the TV you can hook up to the PC tower.
