Most replies say he is a hero so far. Did you really have to reply with that? What's popular isn't always right. What's right isn't always popular. Just keeping score for the peoples.

I've seen people run in our yard to get to the neighbor's house. Should I have shot them? They were on my yard, who knows what they were going to do. You're just being a piss pot now. Someone coming at you with the intent to harm you because you've witnessed them committing a crime, and someone just cutting through your garden as a shortcut are different things entirely. The running through your garden to get to another house is rude of them, but they don't have the intentions of killing you. If you're going to compare something to make a point, at least have good connections between the two. How do I know that they aren't going to break down my door and rob me? I don't know that they won't. So, to prevent them from doing it, I shoot them. That should be justified. If it's not, then neither should this guys actions. F2F, you don't need to tell us. We can read.

Slappy, whilst I think you're a nice guy, and we've spoke before in PM and you've certainly seemed like a cool guy.
I can't take your opinion on this seriously. In every singly thread, you always go with the unpopular choice.
The man was right.
If it were me, I'd have blown both their heads off, and I'd sleep better known that I did.
People dont need to rob someone else's house. No one just ends up in a situation where they need to rob people. If you are breaking into someone's house then you are playing risk VS reward.
Reward: A bunch of crap you'll probably sell for drugs.
Risk: Death.
The fact that they were gonna break into a house and steal the possessions of someone who has more than likely worked hard for them, makes those people scum to me.
And i firmly believe that the sooner scum bags like that learn their lesson the better.
TRW is correct in every post he made in this thread.
As for them being black. The fact that some black people are marching down his street is a joke. They couldn't wave the 'racism' flag any higher if they tried to it seems. If i sneeze near a black person I'd be accused of trying to infect him with a deadly disease.
Whilst i don't think the man is a hero in the conventional sense, I fully agree with his decision.

I go with the unpopular choice?
What's popular isn't always right.
What's right isn't always popular.
I don't have my views or opinions to stand out or fit in. I have them, because they are what I hold to be right and true.

Why should I have to change my views to be popular?

Why should I have to change my views to be popular? You disagree with absolutely anything people say... I asked people to vote for my friend and you deliberately voted the opposite way I mean dude if you disagree with something great....Post once you don't have to keep coming back for more and more and more because it's really really annoying.

Not always. I just did, because you begged for his vote. Oh, so I just let someone responding to me go. Don't bother, because I may annoy someone? Sorry to annoy you with this post, but you responded to me and I'm responding to you. It's called a conversation.

He is a hero to me because anyone who drops bad guys is a hero. The good people need to fight back because like in this case the cops are not always around. I want to give that man a hug and thank him for his duty for the greater good of mankind. This man should be honored. Joe Horn is my hero.

I have no problem with it. People should be afraid of consequences when they do things like steal. Like, it's possible the old man next door may have a shotgun and know how to use it. So, before you break in someone's house, ask yourself, is it worth dying over? My opinion exactly

Let them deal with that ****. Hmm. So your neighbor's wife is being raped? You don't do anything, because it's someone else's house, let them deal with it? A neighbor's house is on fire? Do nothing, because it's someone else's house? Where do we draw the line for inaction? One problem with society is that we tend to ignore crime or problems if it doesn't directly affect us. We shouldn't be worried about what happens to us if we stop a crime, the criminals should be worried about what happens when they commit a crime.

HeroI would of done the exact same thing. How would i have known the guys werent armed or were gonna try something to me?The moment they entered the mans yard was there mistake..end of story.Thats like if today for instance, everyone is at work and i'm here by myself.Regardless that i'm almost 20yrs old,if i see or hear something suspicious outside,i investigate and i would take action to protect myself as in a split second,i could be shot or stabbed. I don't feel bad for the ppls familys that these thiefs belonged too..There are ways to own stuff, not takeing from people that EARNED it aswell the familys are JUST as bad as them..for letting there loved ones to continue it. ing chipskates.Get off there lazy ass's and do something..you know,a JOB?

I don't think he should have killed them. Maybe wounded them but I guess you cant jsut "wound" them with a shotgun.

The guy is a killer, why couldnt he simply just threaten them with the gun? Because if they lived they would have killed an innocent person someday. It happens all the time. Some good person out there will live because of this.

There's no need to shoot them! The guy just wanted to try out his shotgun. He could of threatened them into a corner with a gun and called the police on them.
