...after a couple week hiatus from the computer because of a virus. Anyways, it was refreshing to be gone and have a break. I feel like there's so much new stuff going on.
And I'd like to share my Black Friday experience today:
Okay, some people may have gotten a thing from Guitar Center advertising 20% off any one item in the store this morning. And there was a used Fender Jazz Bass in there for $320 I'd had my eye on for awhile. So, I was going to pick that up, but a few days ago; I had a guy who used to own a music store go check it out, and he told me they would sell it to him for $225.
That excited me quite a bit, so I went in there, picked it up and took it to the counter, explained to them. And this is kind of the conversation
"I don't think $320 is quite the right price, how about like $240?"
"The lowest I can sell it for is $320"
"Uhh... that's not what you guys told my friend."
"Hey man, it's a seven hundred dollar bass"
"How about $250?"
"The lowest I can sell it for is $275"
"That's not even 20% off..."
Then he told me how the 20% off only applied to new items, if you wanted people to know that, wouldn't you think they'd put that on the big bold advertisement and not in the fine print? It took the like 3 minutes to find it in the fine print. The guy was a prick. The same guy is in there almost every time I'm in, prick every time too.
I really wish I could've busted out a perfect, off the top of my head dr cox-esque rant right then. But the words for it didn't come to me untill 5 minutes later, I was tempted to go back in and rant.
For example, one time all the bass amps were taken, so I just used a guitar amp (they say not to do that, but I've been told as long as you don't crank it up, and keep it low, it's fine) and he just unplugged it and bitched at me. Then once, I grabbed the bass to play it from the lowest wall spot (maybe like 5 feet up there) and he bitched.
Anyways, I think I'm just going to have the older guy buy it for me and then pay him back.
oh btw, the bass is like dark red/wine color and I'm going to get it painted like one of these:
