Funny this topic came up because I'm currently dreading doing this. My girlfriend will be meeting the family this Malcolm X-mas...and I couldn't be more nervous. My girlfriend and mom get along great, but it's my mom's side of the family I'm worried about, mainly my grandma. She's one of those that tries to compliment you, but ends up insulting you. For example, instead of "Oh you look good, have you lost weight?", she'll say something like "You don't look as bloated as you used to!" Between that and my aunt/cousin's constant arguing every holiday, I'm terrified.
