Guy shoulda of... you know, listened to the cop instead of being so damn hard headed about it.
Once you get done with all of that, THEN you ask questions. Damn.

Seriously, the guy was a dick, and had it coming. As soon as he stepped out of the car, the cops are trained to treat him as hostile. Period. The minute he refused to do what the cop was telling him, it makes the situation worse, because he seems to be resisting.
Long story short, the guy should have just listened to the cop.

Good for the cop.

Also, he wasn't tasered over a speeding ticket. He was tasered because he's an arrogant jerk wad that thought he was right, and wasn't going to listen to anyone telling him otherwise. Cops have the right to use their tasers whenever they feel the situation has turned hostile. Period.

He didn't co-operate and that's what he get's. It's his own fault.

I dunno, I mean the guy was obviously being a prick to the cop, but on the same token the cop is the one who escalated it to the next level in my opinion. He took out his taser, tasered him, THEN ordered him to "get on the ground"... I mean, no shit, you just tasered him. In my opinion the guy wasn't posing an immediate threat to the officer.
That being said, the guy was a moron. He kept saying "read me my rights.. I know I have rights", but apparently he didn't know as much as he thought, because the cop doesn't have to mirandize you until you are in custody , AND being questioned; the cop wasn't questioning him.

Getting shocked with a taser is not that bad guys, honestly. Not that bad and yet there have been people that have died from being zapped from a taser. I hate cops. This just sounds a bit excessive to me. I guess the cop didn't have pepper spray?? That could've worked just as well, but no. They've got to take it further and use excessive force, which I don't agree with at all.

The guy was in the wrong...doesn't even sound remotely excessive to me. Anyone can be a cop-killer, no matter who they're with or why they choose to do it. Cops need to have that mentality to keep themselves alive. The cop made a choice given the situation, and he made the right one IMO.

The cop told him to stop moving, turn around, and put his hands behind his back. The guy kept walking toward his car. Pepper spray would not have been effective, because the guy was walking the other direction. Plus, he told the guy to stay in his vehicle, and the guy got out anyway. If he had ran at the guy, pepper sprayed him, and tackled him, it would have still been considered "excessive" by people on here. It's absolutely ricockulous. The cop did what he had to do to get the situation under control.

He deserved it.

A little too generalized for my liking. Care to explain why you hate cops? I get that there are bad cops, but bad people are in every walk of life and profession. Typically, your average Joe can buy any kind of weapon - soooo ummm, I don't get the whole, "hating cops" thing. They do their jobs, I might not agree with everything the 'bad' ones do, but they put their lives on the line every day they wear a uniform, and for that I'm grateful.

I hate people people say "I hate cops" because its usually for a stupid reason like "they kicked my friends out of Kmart" or "he gave me a ticket when I wasnt speeding." My Uncle is a cop & has done nothing but positive things. He doesnt get paid under the table or beat up people & get away with it. Believe it or not, some cops are good out there. God forbid anything happen to you one day & you have to call them for help. As for this guy, the second he got out of his car he was asking for problems. Follow orders. Its that simple.

Theres been reports on the news here everyday about the number of people who have been killed in the past 2 months by tasers and that they are trying to ban them.
