I would get an LCD. I saw a diggin' 40" RCA and a 35" Panasonic at Wal-Mart around here for both around 1000$. I also saw a 29" Vizia for around 500$. I only have three HDTVs, two Sonys and one Gateway. I use my Gateway for my computer, I got it for 250$ and it's around 21". My other Sonys are around 35" and 50". Dont buy your tvs at WALMART!!!! Yeah - their cashiers won't abandon their posts to carry groceries.

Wal-Mart is a good store, and they finally matched Canadian prices with US prices. I don't see why going there is so god-foresaken. Granted I get most of my TVs from Circuit City and The Source, Wal-Mart isn't any different.

OK I will be buying a big TV soon and don't know the difference between all the plasma, HDTV, etc stuff. I need to know which to buy and where to go like Walmart, Circuit city, etc. I'm not going after a really expensive one just a big screen with good picture for a decent price. My first suggestion is not to rush into anything. I spent about a soild month of researching all different TV styles, stores, and brands before I made a choice. Sure, there are X-Mas sales going right now, but what people seem to forget is the big sales that are done through about January while major retail chains are having their inventory sales, which is after the holidays.
