Honestly, if the guy isn't going to give you respect, or even be civil, all you can do is move out into a different room. My buddy Jessica had a similar problem, and went to talk to her dorm adviser and got moved into a new room with another chick. Much better for her, her new roommate is her absolute bestfriend now.

If he pisses you off again just remind him what happened in world war 2 LOL....No seriously exchange students seem to be pricks for some reason. Doesnt matter if they Asian or French. Ive never had any positive meetings with one and if he smarts up when you ask if he can read english and he says "yea or i wouldnt be here" just remind him theres thousands of people in America that cant read english, Illegals or Legals

Well I'm thinking of either commuting (but they would end up taking some of my scholarships away), or trying to get a single room, or a double with my friend Brendan. I really don't want to let this kid win this and for him to take over the room and basically Pearl Harbor me.

When I was at Uni there was some exchange studens who were decent people but the majority were very very rude. I had this one class that I really did struggle in and there was these 2 asian girls now these girls hardly spoke a word of English never wrote any thing down never participated in class discussions or anythign like that. Yet for some reason they passed every assignment first time it bugged the hell out of me until I found out that the University gets a s**t load of money for exchange students so they are pretty much going to pass regardless.
By the way you handled the situation very well I don't know if I would have been able to keep my cool and crack him in the mouth for speaking to me like that. What kind of nut job thinks its unreasonable to lock your door at 2am.

I've never had a room at college but have shared the bathroom for 4 years (with one other person every year). My suite mates have always been awful, be grateful you don't live with them
