It's always sad that people let one issue decide whether they will vote for or against a candidate.
Whether it be the war in Iraq, gay/lesbian rights, gun control, or any other issue... People need to start looking at the big picture.

True, however sometimes it's that "ONE" issue (habeas corpus) that effects other issues at hand. And who is it that you were referring to?

True, however sometimes it's that "ONE" issue (habeas corpus) that effects other issues at hand. There are plenty more issues than that. But yes, there are often many issues that affect others. But I guess my main point is that I don't understand how someone can look at a candidate and say, "I will never vote for _____ because he/she is against the death penalty" or something like that. It's such a tiny issue in the grand scheme of things...

But if you wouldn't vote for a candidate because he/she is not for the legalization of gay marriage, for example, then you are probably letting your personal views get in the way of what is truly good for the country.

True, however sometimes it's that "ONE" issue (habeas corpus) that effects other issues at hand. And who is it that you were referring to? I want to preface that habeas corpus is the foundation of our freedom here in the U.S., without that in place this is not a democracy, which is why if this candidate wins the nod ,it's going to be very difficult to vote for them. The military commissions act that passed with 53 republican senators in favor and 12 Democrats. Essentially anybody who voted in favor of this shouldn't even consider them self supporter of democracy, but a traitor to to liberty to everyone around the world.

Hillary isn't for same-sex marriage. I don't count that against her. Isn't she for allowing individual states to decide on the gay marriage issue and equal-rights civil unions? I'm not trying to dissuade you, as that obviously isn't going to happen... But would you vote for her if she wasn't for these things? Are her economic policies, foreign policies, views on drugs, etc. enough that you would vote for her?

She is for civil unions. I'm not sure about the state's thing.
Health care, foreign policy are huge factors as why I'm supporting her.
