Supposedly they are dropping a new I-Phone next year, so I think I will wait, but continue to explore the other Verizon type phones

I hate those websites that say this thing sucks.
Some of them don't even have the thing. Pathetic.
Wait for a new version to come out.

I have Verizon and I have a Blackberry. I'm definetly not a fan of the Iphone at all, the service sucks. You should just get a Blackberry.

My dad just got one and he loves it. here are the pros: -great if your not always around a computer and are a business-ey type person -syncs up efortlessly with you iCal or palm calenders -8 gig iPod which is great -receives email from almost any service (e.g. Yahoo, .mac, POP)
here are the cons: -$20 for internet and SMS texting, -kinda really slow internet -youll have to switch plans -the service area is a crap chute. I know its horrible in D.C. -all in all, after warranties and internet access and stuff, itll cost you about $800-$900
BOTTOM LINE: sure it may be expensive, but its totally worth it.
GET THE iPHONE

It would cost me 225$ to get out of my Verizon bill, so I am looking at least a grand here, but thank you for the honest opinions

It's probably better than the iPhone. I don't understand the deal with this whole "everything Apples touches turns to gold" mentality that most of America seems to have these days. Apple is so damn overrated. Anyway... the Verizon phone seems to be your best bet, but if you just have to have an iPhone, then just wait until your Verizon contract runs out. Or you could get one of those iClones. They're all over eBay.

Sorry to spam the thread, but I want you to think about what you really need your phone to do. How many people actually use their cell phones to surf the internet or watch movies? Honestly, you're better off carrying around a decent phone, a digital camera and an mp3 player.

I have the new MOTO Q and it's the best phone I've ever had. It pretty much has everything the iPhone has, plus Verizon sells it so you won't have to cancel your contract with them if you wanted to buy it. You'd basically just have to upgrade your plan to the data plan and pay the cost for the phone.
There are obviously still some differences between the Q and the iPhone, but I guess it really depends mostly on how much of a gadget junkie you are as far as how much you care about all that other stuff. If you really care about texting and stuff, you're pretty much going to have to get a phone with a QWERTY keyboard unless you do get an iPhone. It takes some getting used to, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly.
Another route you could take: buy an iTouch. It basically has all of the same features as an iPhone, except for the fact that it isn't a phone. This way, you can get an idea what an iPhone is like without switching plans and paying all the extra charges for something you may not necessarily end up liking.

Yeah forget trying to get out of your contract and paying that stupid fee. The Voyager is the phone that looks exactly like the Iphone and its basically the same thing. Go with that one. My friend has it, it's pretty awesome.

I have 2 reasons why you SHOULDN'T buy it.
1. Really expensive.
2. You are Kevin Garnett. You are the best NBA player of all time. You dont need an iPhone.
