I've heard rumblings I'm getting one, which for the most part, I'm happy.
How do I combat this, though? I can't convince you to buy one. You'll eventually give in and find out, in the field of technology, price declines are not always a good thing.

DisclaimerCBT's rants can either deliver the most comprehendible piece of literature, you'll ever come across. Or the most incoherent babble you couldn't help but run into.My moral of the story is that you gotta eat crow, really. You wait to long to buy an iPhone, and it'll be a classic. There's a likely chance that the price will stay where it is until a newer model is in the works.

CBT is the worst poster in the history of WF.
I'd say don't get the I-Phone, while it's got a lot of great aspects in the end the service is still Cingular, and still sucks balls.

I personally dont have much use for it but if it satisfies all your needs then definately go for it. It sure is a nifty little gadget and if it is going to be advantageous to you then it would be crazy of you not to purchase it.

^very nice. At least he puts up a disclamier^
But I own a Sidekuck LX. And even thou the pop up keyboard is "douchebag-ish" I love my phone. I got 3email, txt, ims, internet, regular calls, planner, alarms, and its wicked thin too.

Yeah I dont want a wicked thin phone, I am always afraid of losing it. I am not going to lie, the Iphone is appealing to me because its a gadget that looks really fancy and intriguing, I am sure there are other phones just like it w/o the problems.

And you waited for this thread to make that known? ok. Yeah I guess I should have began with, "even though I don't own one, I'd say they're worth the risk if you don't have an ipod or cell phone you are more than happy with."

I'd probably recommend a Blackberry, actually.

My friend has one. I'd personally rather get a really good smartphone and then an iPod seperately, as it will probably work out cheaper in the end

Wait wait, go back to thinking you want an iPhone, because that phone rules. And I can say that because I own one.
So here we go, this is what's awesome about it:
iPod feature - you know about this but once you use it, thumbs up! Email - send and receive emails anywhere, anytime. Safari - internet thats really THE INTERNET on a phone, you will love. *note, kind of slow loading speed when using the EGDE network, but if connected to WiFi, fast speed. Phone - contacts, touch keypad, speaker, bluetooth yea good stuff. Youtube - awesome, awesome you will love this, im telling you. SMS text - pretty cool in my book, works just like AIM. Weather - what a cool feature to just see if you need an umbrella that day. And finally... MAPS - do you drive, if you do this will be a joy to use, I don't know how many times I have used the map feature but it comes in handy so much when you want to get somewhere and didn't print out a map or had to go there unexpectedly, awesome!
Now on two service. It's really good man, I always have bars up and hardly get drop calls, and when I do get drop calls it's mostly the other person phone that messes up. For reception, great too. I mean it sucks if your like in a tunnel or a basement, but thats all phones. Outside is just great.
I'm telling you man, it's worth it, hell I was a Verizon member like you, and I switched, couldn't of been happier! Think about it some more, and hoped I helped! :-)

If you wanted to spend more, I'd look for the Nokia N95, Samsung F700, Armani, or if you don't need the music try something from Samsung's ultra edition series. Bu the iPhone is worth the Safari and youtube, and is very friendly, I own one, but I rather have something a little nicer, I'm holding out for the Armani. The only thing I can really think of that the iPhone doesn't have is picture and video SMS, but that's it.

Overpriced and with way too many unecessary functions. Stick with just a phone.
