Contrary to your belief, I came here to talk to fellow teens going through the same problems. You old guys who are trying to act like my parents are not going to get anywhere, im sorry to say. Picking on a kid for being like kids are; you should be ashamed. You guys dont and cant understand unless your in the same situation. Times change (hulk hogan = joke). If you were wise you might recognize the wisdom and perspective of someone who's a little bit older and wiser. There are people here who've been around the block a few time and taken a few lumps and have some idea what they're talking about.

Be yourself, it's as simple as that. Don't succumb to peer pressure. Be sensible about the things you want in life. You want a 360? Save up for it. Need clothing? You don't need to buy $40 shirts just because your friends do.

Well, maybe we don't know the whole story. Guys on here have probably come out about something that they're pissed off about, but the whole story isn't always there. Maybe he is already spoiled enough, looking for sympathy, and maybe he deserved to get beaten. we don't know.

You think life stinks now....just wait until you get a job and have bills and college bullcrapto pay. I'd KILL to be your age again. Bitching about how life sucks will get you nowhere. You want things to change? Do something about it.

Get a job ASAP so you can buy the things that you want. A cell phone isn't important. All of my friends that have cell phones just use them for texting which is a waste of money IYAM. I would also wait a while until the WII or Xbox 360 go down a little in price.

Listen here: Be grateful you have a shelter and food. If your dad beats you a few times ok. Do great in school and when you move out of the house and get a really great paying job rub it in his face. To bad you didn't get a stupid t-shirt. You have clothes that fit right? Or are they not in style anymore? ing get over it.

Eh. My parents are at least mid-middle class, if not a bit higher than that, but I could honestly care less about birthday or Christmas presents. I honestly just told everyone I know to give me a few bucks, because I don't want people shopping for me, and I don't really need anything. Yet, my mom is hellbent on getting me crapI don't need, and my dad is going to do the same. I told them I'd much rather do without exchanging gifts with my sister, but they're forcing me to out of sake of "tradition." It's silly.
When you're older, you'll see the value in family. As your grandparents inch closer toward the ends of their lives, you'll learn to value their presence. As your parents can't play ball with you or do everything they once could, you'll value them a little bit more. As your life takes many unexpected twists and turns, you'll value your friends more than you ever thought possible. You'll find it out when you're a little bit older. When I was your age, it was all about the newest video game or wrestling toy or whatever, and if I didn't get as much as the year before, I'd complain and angrily cuss out my parents at how bad I had it. But the reality is, I don't have it so bad, and I see that now, which is why I am happy with my PS2 and old games. I don't need, nor want anything more than I already have, and that which I do want isn't bought in stores.

Just as an added note - everyone needs to really stop playing the "Oh, leave him alone! He's just a kid." card. Sorry, but at fifteen, you're more than likely a sophmore in high school, and thus, well on your path to falling under the catergory of "young adult". At fifteen years old, I didn't sit on my ass bitching about how all the kids were playing Playstation 2's and X-Boxes. My parents sent me out and made me get a god damned job and in the end, I bought the damn thing myself.
Somebody else made note of what a great childhood I probably had, devoid of any form of hard times. You're right, I did have a good childhood, but it wasn't a childhood founded on money and material possessions. I had two parents who taught me right from wrong and strong sense of family. You want to talk to me about poverty? Tell me about the last time you were 7 years old and came home from visiting family for Christmas to find your house boarded up because your family couldn't make ends meet to pay the mortgage. Tell me about the last time you spent New Year's eve in a Motel 6 because the only car your family could afford was liable to break down at a moments notice, and chose to do so in the middle of a snow storm in Chicago.
To that end, the fun doesn't end when you hit my age. Too many people I graduated with are sitting on four year degrees and living at home, because it suits them well enough to be a 22 year old loser. I didn't get the free ride through college, and now, it's all come full circle. I'm about to move into my second apartment, having been on my own since turning 20. You get a fresh batch of food on your table each week? Try going a month on the same grocery receipt.
Then again, you could avoid all that and live under the protection of your "cheap" parents.
KIDS ARE NOT EXEMPT FROM BEING BELITTLED.

You asked for almost a grand worth of stuff for Christmas, I asked for 5 DVDS and thats it, you need to get a job or learn how to play with the rocks outside. Ive been working since I was 14, but my parents helped.
I laugh at this thread and some of the responses, just get a job man and enjoy your youth before you do have all these debts coming in. I bet when Xmas comes, you will list about 30 things you got from your parents and this will all be moot.

But even before I had a joba and could get thisngs I want I still was wearing white tees, and nice sneakers. Now I have the other things I wanted....ie Cell phone, but I never have felt compled to even walk inot Hollister or A&F oe AE thoese shirts are for pussies you see how tight they are? crapman you scrany little you deserve to get beat if you want to wear thoese. Hello everyone. I am a teenager and I feel a bit peculiar this holiday. Ive been asking my parents for a new system to surpass my 2002 PS2 since july (xbox and/or wii) and my mom said the other day, to my face that I wouldnt get one for christmas. I said she was cheap and she got my dad to beat my ass because of it. so im going to have to take money out of my bank account and get one in february when theyre actually in stores. I would have got one last january but i didnt like the games. but now theres resident evil, guitar hero, and brawl with snake off metal gear. my god i wish i had a wii. I also asked for some "cool" shirts (hollister and that ****) and she said they were to expensive. two other things I really want are a nano ipod (all i have is a shuffle) and a Real cell phone (i have a trackphone, and am severely ridiculed for it) It just depresses me that my lower middle class family cant afford all of the things cool people have. Parents spoil theyre children, these spoiled children set precedents, and anyone below the bar is deemed a loser (ie me!) HOWEVER I realize that these material goods dont mean jack ****. Im not going to let society form me into someone im not. Why is the world so matierialistic? Did anyone else ever go through this or currently going through this? How did you cope with it and what did you do? God I cant wait till highschools over. Thanks for listening. -Bob Stein- WE ARE THE ENEMIES OF THIS SOCIETY!! WE ARE THE ENEMIES OF THIS SOCIETY!! OF THIS SOCIETY! OF THIS SOCIETY! To the deprived And the neglected To the unwanted And all the ones discarded in this world SOCIAL OUTCAST - SOCIAL OUTCAST WE ARE THE ENEMIES - OF THIS SOCIETY To the abandoned And the rejected To the unforgiving And all of you, with nowhere to belong SOCIAL OUTCAST SOCIAL OUTCAST WE ARE THE ENEMIES OF THIS SOCIETY!! No matter what's needed Or how great the hurry As long as there's rebels You don't need to worry, we're standing beside you SOCIAL OUTCAST - SOCIAL OUTCAST WE ARE THE ENEMIES OF THIS SOCIETY
